Does Australia Have A Free Media?
May 5th, 2012 at 11:12am

Does Australia have a free media committed to investigation and getting to the truth and the facts?

I suggest Australia's media is a rabble of corporate sycophants and spin doctors, they are a disgrace to journalism.  What we need is reporting & critical analysis - what we get is second rate me too state & corporate propaganda.

No. Julian Assange would have the full support of the Australian government if we did.

We can't handle the truth. Corporate and governmental corruption must remain hidden. We are safe with the Murdoch press.

And murdoch is a corporate suckhole himself. Thing is an investigation wont help. Someone else will just take over his empire.

Why did 9-11 happen?

The media doesn't ask such questions: it dictates the answers the minions must regurgitate at the water cooler!!

*Sure....they're anti competitive as any subsidised job is.  It wouldn't be there without the tax payer.  Very damned difficult for a brainwashed collectivist to understand that I know....  (swaggy) *

Media is a business that must make a profit and make share holders happy. The truth is relative to the profit margin. Similar problems exist with insurance companies, they take our money to insure us but there priority is to the share holder not the policy holder. The media are ment to investigate and reveal truth but they actually serve the political and financial interest of their owners.

Apathy and defeatism does not help either - you should be ever vigilant to fighting apathy and corporate suckholes, exposing corruption and demanding accountability and impact on decision making, otherwise you yield the floor to them.  Resisters are an ongoing annoyance to them too. Smiley

They tell us what they want us to think.

They report or not report what suits their agenda.

They are more interested in influincing us than in reporting facts.
