Which is sad because it was obviously tongue-in-cheek and some idiots take it so seriously as to get upset.

SOB

There is joking and then there is slander. I think Abbott can take a joke, but this topic is taking things way too far.

Thought Lines? Didn't he also write a book called Battlelines?

A subliminal message that Mr Abbott is appealing to the Howard battlers. I.e, aspirational types, tradies, rough trade. Muscle marys and gym queens.

Not to mention people who listen to Alan. The sort of people that, in Amerika, they call-log cabin Republicans: rich old queens. Balding, mustachioed ex-sailors and marines who become "libertarians" after the little wifey takes them for everything they've got.

If Mr Abbott wasn't so busy playing the virgin princess, he could collect all these votes and keep them in his purse for a rainy day.

Remember: one wrong move as PM and Mr Turnbull's waiting behind the curtains. And we all know which way Mr Turnbull swings as the member for Oxford Street.

Personally, I think he's straight. Lucy's not the type to put up with any shenanigans.

You see, you ain't in tune with the cosmos. The real title is Thought Lines. I think you need to listen to Alan a little more often until you are deemed 'gifted'.

I am the Mahdi. I am the Right Guided One. I am Saladin.

You've finally realised that Leftards are about to wander aimlessly in the political wilderness for at least the next ten years, haven't you? That's why you're trying to get a rise out of the rest of us with these childish topics. That's okay. I can handle it because the end of the Gillard government is near and all will be better soon! Just realise that the more ridiculous the topic, the more desperate and just plain bat-poo crazy you look.  Smiley

I agree completely, Adelcrow. Mr Abbott does have such gripable love-handle ears. Many guys would love to run their fingers through his hair and see what pops up.

Armchair, there's no reason to be frightened. When Mr Abbott gets in, we'll all see the real "Mr Abbott". At the moment he's in campaigning mode, playing such a prude and everything. He has to do it, we all know that. He has to rope the squares in.

When he gets elected though, he'll be completely liberated. There will be no excuses. He'll have a mandate to do whatever he likes. This is such interesting time in politics. Anything could happen. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Abbott hooks up with Barry O'Farrell or Clive Palmer. Hot!

He'll have to ditch those speedos - people just won't stand for them anymore. They're a complete fashion nightmare. Mr Abbott will be forced to do his beach thing in the nude. Nude running, volleyball, rugby - the real Aussies will cheer him on. Then a quiet wank in the rocks with his mates. No cameras, please. Just radio.

Okay, a live cross to Mel and Kochie at the most, but that's it. Who broke the Campell Newman sauna story? We should only issue press releases to the real patriots and those sympathetic to the cause.

Ditch the witch, stop the boats, end the Labor waste.

You have to admit, this is a very interesting time in our nation's history. Mr Abbott has captured the zeitgeist perfectly.

Yes, it seems Gist and the other Leftards are quite hung-up (pun intended) over the whole homosexual thing. They seem very knowledgeable about this subject. Scary!

Slander only works if you're saying something mean. There's nothing wrong with being straight. 50% of the population are breeders. It sounds to me like you're the one who's descriminating.

As we know, the rest of society is gay, bi, lesbian, transexual, and bi-curious. This means that if people voted along straight/queer lines alone, Mr Abbott could cash in.

Think about it. Juliar is straight. She can pick up a few breeders who don't listen to Alan, but the rest, forget about it.

If Mr Abbott laid his cards on the table and came out, he'd be guaranteed an easy 50%. With all the other votes out there, on a two-party preferred basis it would be a landslide.

Right now, Mr Abbott is going for the conservative Christian demographic. Lay-Catholics, priests, monarchists, old boys and bores. How many of them are there?

This strategy is folly. Mr Abbott needs to broaden out. If he appealed to the rest of the population, he'd have a mandate to do anything. Mr Abbott would not be elected, he would be annointed.

The gay vote is there to be taken. All Mr Abbott has to do is declare his hand. We know that he had a number of boys at school and some older men in the seminary. Today, he enjoys the odd chance encounter at the gym. He's doing some weights, he's checking out the other guys, he catches someone's eye, they're both working up a sweat, and one thing leads to another.

What's wrong with it? It's perfectly natural. Australians would understand, and many would support him in spades.

I really don't understand why more Liberal voters don't demand that Mr Abbott comes clean.
