Swan's shonky budget - so many holes it, leaks!!!
May 1st, 2012 at 7:36am

How can Swan hope to have his budget taken seriously when he picks and chooses what he includes in it? He is keeping the NBN out of it in a desperate and pathetic attempt to make it look like he will produce a surplus, along with other government spending. That can only be for one reason - to cook the books. Don't include certain items of spending and it starts to look like he's spent less than the government collected in taxes. It's a pity for him that the deficit he forecast has more than tripled from $12bn to $37bn. He has no credibility when it comes to budgets and his incompetence is only forcing up interest rates.

Gist, it is not a secret. Swan has said previously that spending on the NBN will not be included in the budget. Another poor attempt at deflecting...

The NBN is not a recurrent expenditure item for the budget so it wil not affect the budget. However, it is a very large capital expenditure item which will be added to the current debt which is closing in on $250B.

The Budget Surplus is a con, being built on moving things around and borrowing money to pay for others. And in the end, it wont even be acheived. It isnt just a mirage; it is a mirage of a mirage.

The word "surplus" doesn't even appear in the ALP dictionary. Nor does "competence", or the term "fiscal responsibility".

The Telegraph can not print their own stories with sufficient bias - they need to have Liberal politicians do it for them.

I notice you complain only of who created that article, not its content. Obviously you cannot repudiate it because it is true.

I think the photo posted by Gist points out the source of the content.

There is no credible content only spin based on a fairy tale created by a seer.

Do you think Hockey can get us the numbers for the Melbourne Quaddy next week?

And on this mornings radio, it was announced Swan has also left out the $10B allocated for green energy as well as the NBN out of the budget.
Talk about cooking the books.
If I left out my fortnightly mortgage payments out of my household budget and pretended it wasn't there, my monthly household budget would look mighty fine too.
But it doesn't make it right though.
Swan should just cut to the chase and leave everything out of the expenditure side of the budget.
If he is going to kid himself that the government isn't spending more than the nation is earning, why not go the whole hog.
You wouldn't trust Swan with the office petty cash tin let alone this nations budget.

Continence pad???!? You mean incontinence pad don't you? And I don't need one! My sphincter is fully functional, just like my brain thanks very much! Yours on the other hand...  Grin

But if ever I wanted my brain to leak out of my ears I would indeed start listening to that talkback radio you lot seem to favour.  Cheesy

Phony Tonys office skirt  must be impressed with Swan, even if the Liberal party gazette were correct, which knowing the lies they spew is highly unlikely, Swans budget at worse case scenario would be half the mismanaged 70 billion dollar hole Hockey and your chump, phony Tony tried to serve up. It must suck to be a partisan hack nobody  in phony Tony's office .

Historically , ALP governments have always spent less than liberal/ coalition governments .... but lets not let facts get in the way of a good slogan ... I can see Abbott slogan writers working overtime on this one
