Another Double Dissolution Threat From Mr No
Apr 27th, 2012 at 6:19pm

So the leader of the coalition is more interested in a DD, so to attempt to gain control both houses, than to work within the parliament Australians vote in at the next election.

Does this show Abbott's true colours.

- anti democratic
- inability to negotiate
- division is his politics

Just another day of the usual negativity by Dr No..
If he didnt have Clive Palmer writing policy for him he'd have nothing.

but the silly thing is you noongs, it will gain him more votes. people are sick of the continual failure of Labors border protection and they remember that Howards solution worked. So when Abbott promises to reintroduce it and threated a DD to make it so then the voters  just give a thumbs up and support it.

It shows Tony The Tart will do anything to gain power.

Anything!

Lie (as he freely admits), cheat (Slipper anyone?), sell his arse. You name it! I reckon he'd sell his wife for favours given half a chance.

A double dissolution is nothing in Tony's book.

And the conga line here cheers every move. Don'tcha?

He will have a hard time trying to get throught the legislative changes that he is now blocking to prevent Labor from using an off shore solution.

Same boot different foot.

A DD election in 2015 about the earliest opportunity would be certain to deliver more seats to Labor. Abbnott will not use a trigger if available.

I am only voting for Abbott because he keeps saying 'NO' to Gillard. Otherwise we could have had Turnbull. Oh, wait - we did!

Well, there. Abbot is the non-Gillard candidate, just as Rudd was the non-Howard. There is absolutely nothing, NOTHING, Gillard can do to save herself. The non-Gillard, non-Rudd, non-Labor candidate is a shoo-in at the next election.

It will be Abbott. The only interesting question now is his margin of victory - will he need a DD or will he have enough seats in the lower house to dominate a joint sitting of both houses (if not winning enough Senate seats outright even at a half Senate election to cancel out the Labor/Green senator).

Where's the DD so to stop the Carbon Pricing, take back the compensation, and the reverse the Green Energy spending?

Here's a novel thought -

If there is no carbon tax - then there is no need to hand out compensation to pay it......

It's an absurd policy cods.

Whoever sold this plan to Julia Gillard as a vote winner needs taking out into the street, hung from a lamp-post and beating with a stick.

It's a lesson in political suicide.

The Abbnott plan is to keep the compensation remove the fixed price and then to implement direct action which would cost more and can't work at all.

While you comment is correct in theory it not an option on the table and it would do noting about global warming except to make later action much more expensive.

You do realize if Australia actually reduced its carbon emissions to ZERO.

I/E the whole continent became wiped out and produced no carbon at all.....

The Chinese growth in pollution would still eat up the difference in the space of less than a year?

To think the Australian carbon tax will do a single ounce of a digit difference is like believing in fairies at the bottom of the garden.
