Saturday night's alright for fightin'

At least that's what Elton John sang. Like to think it's alright for other things too besides avoiding bullets over Broadway (Sorry Woody Allen).

Doesn't say too much for me sitting here banging on the keys for my thousandth post, (champagne bottle being opened).

Saturday...great for some, lonely for others.

Never mind, I went up to Katoomba to my favourite Hatters' restaurant today and had a three hour lunch with a couple of old friends. Doesn't get any better than that!

So I don't mind doing this tonight. Got my favourite oldies music on, a glass of good wine, so I am mellowing out.

So I raise my glass to all of the rest of you who are in font of the screen instead of out and about..have a good night.

Post Script..Tom T. Hall just came on..Old Dogs Children and Watermelon wine...my night is complete. THE song about life.

It was a Hat Factory way back when..Now it is split into, a hat shop one side and a restaurant the other entitled, The Hatters'. Great food, one Michelin Star but as cheap as a good club. If you're in Katoomba do yourself a big favour and have meal there. It's in Katoomba Street down the bottom end.
