Labor is making a complete mess of the introduction of the carbon tax. First they lied about it, then they couldn't sell it and now they're going to blatantly buy-off voters by sending out compensation cheques two months BEFORE the tax even comes into effect!!! Can these corrupt, spineless, godless, incompetent imbeciles do anything right??? Obviously not!!!

The compensation was always going to come in before the tax...You should have been listening when they announced it instead of buying the denialists spin.

Look out for the $100 a tonne carbon price.

If you delay it long enough there is no doubt it will get more expensive. Tony Abbott will ensure your kids could very well be paying at least $100 a tonne in carbon tax.
We all know the carbon tax is just a lead in to an ETS not dissimilar to the one Howard wanted to impliment.

Shame it is not needed at all.

Fossil fuels are non polluting and will last forever...yep we dont need a carbon tax and investment in alternative energy  Grin

No we dont and when the time comes, then we can move over to any new technologies. We are still good for up to 70 to 100 years before we need any type of transition.

New technologies in 50 years will be far superior than the expensive inefficient technology you guys are trying to force onto us right now.

Why do we need compensation for something that clearly isn't costing us money YET??? I may as well sue you for hitting me with your car next year because I could use the compensation payout now rather than wait another 12 months to get run over...

Pity we have a government that doesn't know how to create or maintain a strong economy and has no idea how to beat a depression other than by blindly handing out cash in the hope it'll help.

It is to setup this farce to look like free money in the hopes that the feeling of the free money will outweigh the feeling of not being compensated enough.

Are you a complete id......, silly of me  of course you are.

It takes a good fifty years of commitment to develop these magic solutions that you talk of. If we are not involved in the development and ownership of these solutions you will be paying through the nose in you ignorant retirement for you inaction and apathy. The "ME" generations greed will drive this country into the scrap heap when they have finished raping it for all it is worth. We will hand on a country with no resources and no industry or plan for the future because selfish people such as you couldn't see why they should have to make sacrifices when every generation before them made sacrifices so it would be better for the next.

Not at all. Some government R&D and idiots like the greenies buying what is available will keep it going. At some stage when someone thinks there is money to be made, then they would try to better the technology that is available at the time. That is how technology change has worked and in such a small timeframe in history. That is how it should always work.

None of this forced crap from a failed pseudo science with magic fingered computer models. Just pure progression when progression is needed.

On a Green note - Qantas flew one of its planes to Perth partially using bio fuel.

This is fantastic because it means that we will have less pollution etc. etc.

It won't be long, relatively speaking when so much more will be running on bio fuels. This will solve the problem of fossil fuels running out.

Of course in order for the world to fly on it, drive on it etc...there won't be any land left for the planting of crops for people to eat...but they will get to drive their car!
