Most, at some time or other, have been forced to go back on a promise - e.g. if one meets with an accident along the way, one can't proceed to that important meeting.

Gillard, reneging on a promise, was nothing like that--

As a result of the promise NOT to bring in the carbon tax, she received many more votes and managed, bribing independents and Greenslime to wriggle into the top job.

A person of integrity would not have given in to GayBob's demands,. She didn't even have to, GayBob, being similar slime, would not have pulled the plug on the government simply because, many voters were horrified at the election's result and would have voted differently at the next.

As for comments likening John Howard broken promise to bring in the GST to that of Gillard's:

WILL YOU BLO*DY FOOLS REMEMBER THAT HE INFORMED THE ELECTORATE OF HIS CHANGE OF MIND "BEFORE" THE ELECTION , "NOT AFTER" AS HAD THE BITCH?

How amny votes can you attirbute to that promise? From what I can remember, it wasn't an issue until after the election ... I didn't hear any promise one way or the other (I agree that she made it ) .. i don't believe it really affected the vote as much as you and Abbott try to make out ... all the drama came after the election

Horowitz is my mother last name - i did not my total name on here but my last name is same Jewish style.

I do not make asylum in Australia, i come legal and with papers.

It appears that 'not understanding the situation' means 'my POV MUST be right and so everybody else is wrong'. Well we know there's a lot of that about, especially in Israel. Fact is not all refugees are Asian, but those that are, are going to an Asian country, (Australia) which their people have traded with, visited and settled on for thousands of years. Yerps, ( the endearing name George Bush gave to Europeans) have been here only for the life span of a tortoise.

Anyone who is familiar with the enormous problems experienced in Europe and Great Britain in regard to multiculturalism should realise that we have a developing situation up north that is growing by the day.

When Howard was in, it was 2 boats a year...now it could well be hundreds. This is a situation that is out of control and JULIAR (There will be no carbon tax in a Government I lead) GILLARD hasn't got the first clue in what to do about it, save, sticking her head in the sand and hoping it will go away.

This is costing the Country - billions - it is uncosted and unfunded and is destroying the balance sheet. The Government would have the guts to tell us just exactly what the cost is. Most assuredly it is well into the billions.

The situation whilst getting really bad will be remedied when the LIBERALS return to power in 2013.

The CARBON TAX will end up where is should be in the local dump, along with all of the other hopeless ideas of a Government, which doesn't know how to run a Country.

The polls suggested that the voting was close and that's the reason she opened her mouth and made that promise.

If she hadn't, Abbott would have been in power and even some Labor people are honest enough to admit this.

because he put his foot down about 800 being forwarded to Malaysia (that's where refugees get whipped, you know)

Had they known their destination would be Nauru, they wouldn't have got into that leaky boat and be dry and alive.

There's more optimism in being alive then in the sea.

By the way, posters, the "gratefully" applied to what followed like:

gratefully, it isn't Australia's problem Not to the sinking--.

Death of anyone, even that of a sparrow is never a celebration and hopefully, this boat hadn't contained unaccompanied chiuldren.
