it isn't Australia's problem.

Who will be blamed?

Abbott,

because he put his foot down about 800 being forwarded to Malaysia  (that's where refugees get whipped, you know)

Had they known their destination would be Nauru, they wouldn't have got into that leaky boat and be dry and alive.

There's more optimism in being alive then in the sea.

Refugees lost in Indonesian waters

A BOAT carrying 60 asylum seekers heading to Australia was last night missing in Indonesian waters.

Indonesia's search and rescue agency received a distress signal via the Australian Maritime Safety Authority yesterday afternoon but there are fears the vessel has already sunk.

A spokeswoman for Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare said Indonesian authorities were carrying out the search, but that Australia was ready and willing to assist if required. "If they need assistance we'd be ready to help," she said.

can we assume that the boats they are using are more and more unseaworthy. people smugglers dont care why should they?..I dont even think the Indonesian govt cards either to be honest.. once they leave their shores they dont have the problem do they?  if the boats stop coming then these people end up in Java..

its horrible they shouldnt be coming at this time of year and if the boats are getting more and more shonky.. that makes it murder.

I heard the news overnight.

After "thankfully" there was a comma, and continued the sentence with "it wasn't our problem" .

It happened near Indonesia therefore, there'd be no accusations about our rescue efforts nor the tussle to deal with these asylum seekers.

(except for Abbott, our favourite scapegoat!)

We Australians, have many problems of our own--

How many lives and properties were lost during the Queensland disasters? What has been done to help these people?

Had we expected help from any Muslim-driven country?

LOL

The thread title should be left as it is,

It says more about olde.sault than she could ever say about herself. What a sad human being.

Feel sorry for her. Her life experience has made her the way she is.

I do not think Australia should be receiving refugees but I think title of this topic is not appropriate.

If JULIAR (there will be no Carbon Tax in a Country I lead) GILLARD was to do the same thing as the New Zealand Prime Minister and say, "you are not coming here." The whole dirty people trade would die overnight.

I do feel sorry or the loss of human life. But Gillard by her IN ACTION has created the market, so people take the chance.

I have commented separately on reasons why I think this trade should be stopped on this site.
