When politicians offer you something for nothing, or something that sounds too good to be true, it's always worth taking a careful second look.

Leviticus 20

Quote:
1
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman,
both of them have committed an abomination:
they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

bobby,

Good quote.

But, that law, and the corresponding punishment, only had an application to those particular people who were intended to be an example to the rest of mankind.

The Hebrews.

i.e.
And we other people [the rest of mankind] can do exactly what we wish in this life [and God's law, in this life does not constrain us from 'behaving badly'], BUT, when we die we will be brought to account for what we chose to do with our 'freedom'.

God has separated mankind into two groups of people in this world;
1/   The Hebrews, his covenant people [...the Jewish people being the surviving remnant of that group of people].
2/   The rest of mankind.

Why are the Jewish people 'special' ?

Romans 3:1
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2  Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

But God does not care if we are Jewish, OR, if alternatively, we are people
"in the world"
.

God cares about the human heart, and about our contrition, and to what measure we have a desire for righteousness.

That said, we can live in the world, we are compelled to live in the world, but we should be mindful of with what 'messages' our conscience communicates to us.

And we should respect those messages.

Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Romans 2:11
For there is no respect of persons with God.
12  For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14  For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15  Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Everyday, God is calling out to us.

Do we have ears to hear ?

Is your conscience so seared by your disregard for what it says to you that you can no longer hear its messages to you ?

Revelation 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The spirit of God is always willing to forgive, and to accept [embrace] us.

But the wicked [and the unrepentant] ?

No.

The wicked, and the unrepentant, will be 'discarded' by God.

+++

Walk your path.

Enjoy your life.

And you may do whatever your heart desires.

There will not be any consequences.

Honest.

Thanks Yadda but Jesus himself wanted the old laws upheld:

Matthew 5:

King James Version (KJV)

Quote:
17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

bobby,

Exactly so.

Jesus was a Torah observant Jewish man.

bobby,

Q.
And who were Jesus' intended audience ?

The gentiles [aka 'infidels'] ?

No.

Jesus' message was addressed exclusively to the Jewish nation and people.

[n.b......much later, Paul was commissioned by Christ [Acts 9], to take the gospel to the gentiles.]

Matthew 15:24
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Ha ha, it is to laugh.

And, human pride came before Homo erectus.

Isaiah 29:14
Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Evolutionists today refer to our own genus as;

Google
homo sapien sapien

'Sapien', means wise.

Evolutionist scientists have categorised ourselves as the;

'Wise, wise man.'

Romans 1:22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Rubbish - the message was to all people.
The laws of the old testament are still binding to everyone.

That's right, honey. Don't spill your milk on your meat, and make sure you don't sow wheat and oats in the same field.

Leviticus stands.

bobby,

That is an assertion.

And you base that assertion, upon what ???

Bobby. wrote on Apr 8th, 2012 at 9:02pm:

bobby,

Again, that is an assertion.

I thought that God's covenant [i.e. the laws of the old testament], was only binding upon God's covenant people ?

i.e.
Today, with those who identify themselves as Jews.

It was the Hebrew people [alone] that entered into the covenant, with God.

"...And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do...."
Exodus 19:5-8

bobby,

n.b. the words used.....

Leviticus 20:24
...I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.

Leviticus 20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Deuteronomy 7:6
For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
