Could never see the interest in watching Drag Racing or most motor sports. Billy Buckingham sended it up best "...these ****ing cars just go round and round and round." Guess its just one of those sports, like Golf, that are best participated in than viewed ...much like Test Cricket. Rally car is a bit more interesting and Paris-to-Dakar a little bit more if it was run in a day.

Of all the motor sports drag racing appeals most to me.
You can see the fastest acceleration in the world from the cars & bikes.
I think some of the cars have over 8,000  horse power.

I can't say I can really see what appeals to people about drag racing.  I mean the cars just go in a straight line and it's all over so quickly.  I can see the point in rallying and in races like the Bathurst one though.

Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece.

They don't go anywhere at Bathurst either -
just around & around the track.
Frances - you'll just have to go & watch one day.
There is plenty of racing action in Sydney & Brisbane
but not in Melbourne.

Did you watch the 3 videos I posted?

Just found a beauty.
A 1200 hp suzuki motor drag bike.

Mcbride ran an incredible 5.830 elapsed time at 232.75 miles per hour for the win!

Fast forward to 3.50 to see the run.

Black idiot couldn't enjoy the videos I posted of drag racing -
he had to turn my thread into something about poofs.

Honey, he who smelt it, dealt it. There's nothing wrong with a bit of drag action if that turns you on.

You're really turning people on with all this rev talk, you know. You should try to be more considerate.

How come no one had a look at the video?
This is world record achievement.

I can kind of see the appeal with drag racing, but it's all just in a straight line - there's a lot more to punting a car or bike around than just launching it as quickly as possible. As far as driver skill goes, it's up there with reverse parking.

From an engineering point of view drag racing has a fair amount of appeal - if you're into grenades.

There is actually a lot of skill to prevent yourself from being killed.

Exactly. It's an unconscious manifestation of the drag racers' self-loathing homosexuality.

They put themselves at risk to punish themselves for their latent homosexual desires. It makes a lot of sense.
