Ben Cousins

Don't you love it when the jokes come out?

What's the difference between Ben Cousins and a McDonald's cup?

Nothing. They're both filled with ice and coke.

Where were you when you heard about 9/11?

Me? I was in my office.

Where were you when you heard about Ben Cousins being arrested.

I was at school, then the office, then driving to work, then giving birth...................

What did Stephen Bradbury say?
The only person to spend more time on the ice than him was Ben Cousins.

What's the difference between an esky and Ben Cousins?

Nothing, they're both filled with ice.

I feel pity for Ben Cousins.
A great talent, has a problem with illegal drugs.

He has been given chances, but the lure of excitement is too great for him.

It's just a waste.

This clown was on the front page of the West Australian.

Seriously, how is this worthy of the front page of our only newspaper?

I suppose Channel 7 News will dedicate an hour long bulletin to him tonight (unless they can find a cat stuck up a tree somewhere).

Why is WA obsessed with this failed sportsman?

Christ, I know it's a boring state but we're not that bad.

Says a lot about the football club that covered up his drug abuse and denied there was a problem until it became obvious.....The Channel 7 exclusive will no doubt be Ben reveals all again.....Then he will come on and say he wants to put it all behind him and all will be forgiven.....I am over Ben Cousins and think he has had enough air time to prove how stupid people are for supporting him.....He had it all and blew it.....Typical spoilt private school brat IMO!!!

I'm disappointed in benny.  I've stuck up for him ever since he was sacked, backed him to rise above it, but he's failed again, and not long after his first kid was born.   Sad

I'm not one to tell others how to live, hell there are some skeletons in my closet. But unfortunately for Ben he was a star and they do tend to burn too bright. As for Mick he will be quite this year until Collingwood begin to fail. So when will they fold so that Port Adelaide can have the jumper that belongs to them.

I knew Julia would find a way to get Ben Cousins off and improve the reputation of the AFL at the same time lol

Not again?

Maybe drop the legend part and add disgraced.
.......................................................................

Ben Cousins charged with cannabis possession

BEN Cousins has been charged with possession of cannabis and a smoking implement in his car after being pulled over by police early today.

Police pulled over Cousins, 33, just before 7.30am today as he drove his white Nissan Murano in North Beach, Perth Now reported.

It will be alleged police found the cannabis - with an estimated street value of just $20 - and smoking utensil inside the vehicle during a search.

A WA Police spokesman refused to say which North Beach street Cousins had been arrested on but PerthNow has reliable information to suggest it was outside his home on Arnott Street.

A witness described seeing unmarked police cars outside Cousins' house this morning, as officers searched his car for about an hour while the WA football legend looked on.

Seen many an addict (well, a few anyway) use weed to help them kick their habit for the more destructive drugs.
Looks like that avenue has just been taken from him.  Cry

Ben has been arrested again in Perth today with pot and a smoking implement in his car.....He was pulled over in a routine stop and had his care searched when the cops found the goods.....I have hardly ever been pulled over and I have never had my car searched.....Ben is paying the price for his smug behaviour and I have no doubt he is being targeted by police.....It will only get worse for him if he does not give it up!!!

If you were to tick the boxes of a perfect human being, then Ben Cousins would satisfy most of them.

Why not just let the guy just be the champion that he is?

He hasn't hurt anybody, but he has reached the pinnacle of human greatness. Leave the guy to do what he does so well puhlease.

I'm so sick of the persecution of this well mannered champion of this earth.
Those who persecute him could only ever wish to be the champion being that he is.

He takes some drugs, and is a champion, a team player, a great person.
Get over yourselves. You could only imagine, you could only hope, you could only wish to ever ever be as great as Ben Cousins.

Who has he hurt?
Who has he inspired?

Is it a problem that you are not "allowed" to take drugs and also be successful (great) and a good person?

Who has the problem?

Because, let's face it, you aren't permitted to take drugs and also be a good (or great) successful person in this society...it does not compute.

Well look more closely peoples, 'cause you are being sucked into total bs.

He has had to run run run from his crime of being the great person that he is.
He has his way to be the champion that he is. Who amongst the plebs should argue with that?

Those who never were and never will be...that's who.

For the life of you, you would not be able to count on one finger the damages that Ben Cousins has done, but you would need far more than ten to count the inspirations.i

That could be a joke Amadd.

He was going to smuggle drugs hidden up his anus into a rehabilitation centre for recovering drug addicts.

He is a dealer of illicit drugs.

The reason that police knew that he had drugs on him was that they had been monitoring him for quite a while. He charged people a fee to attend his parties so that he that he could sell them drugs.

This 'role model' lied to his fans, the kids who idolised him and their parents.

I hope no one has died because of his drug dealing.

Not a good citizen at all.

Having said that, it's not all his fault, it is the AFL culture that shaped him.

I've always wondered why they couldn't catch a ball that a third grader would catch with ease.

Yes, this is true.  Aparrently he went out to his car at 7:30am and was pounced on by plain clothes detectives, who then searched his car and found *gasp* less than a stick of weed.

Thank god the cops are tackling the big problems, and getting $20 worth of weed off the streets.

That's a fair enough assumption, but I would assume that Mainwaring was the chicken before the egg.
Yes they were all self-serving and selfish in their "Chemistry" era.

For many, it's blatantly obvious that the WCE's were pumped up to win flags via the chemists.

In a lot of ways, I see Cousins as a victim of that plagiarism.
He was a talented player who IMO, was good enough to disregard that course.

The WC eagle "CHEMISTS" should be hanged for all to see!
Heads on sticks baby!

"They" are the criminals!!!

Their crime will never ever rest.

We'll hunt the c@nts 'til the end of time!!

Reverse their flags. The "Storm" was one hundreth as bad as what the Weagles got away with.

I am not sure if you should be making such allegations against the Eagles mate.....It is my understanding players where sourcing their own recreational drugs from some very unsavory people, which is what first drew the attention of the police.....The Eagles where probably covering for their star players and protecting them from police but I doubt they sanctioned the drug use at all.....Until someone writes a tell all book we will never know for sure!!!

Cuz says he had been using since before he was drafted.  It's a bit hard to blame "the eagles culture" when his habit predated any contact he had with the club.  Still, that won't stop the jealous haters from melbourne.  Expect to see a relaunch of accusations later this year, out of sheer spite at the eagles bringing the flag west again.

No wonder Ben Cousins has a substance problem. He probably started when he was nine.

Who says AFL is not desperate to be our National sport. Gillard would probably embrace this practice, she wants a nation of drug addicted AFL players.

Junior football players 'paid with drugs'

PORT Lincoln Football League in South Australia is investigating claims a coach lured junior grade footballers to play for his team by offering them marijuana.

The league's football operations manager, Robyn Rowsell, confirmed the allegations had been raised about three weeks ago.

The league boss says she reported the claims to police on Friday.

But Port Lincoln police yesterday said they were not aware of the allegations and would investigate.

The South Australian National Football League also has not been advised of the claims despite junior football leaders in Port Lincoln knowing of the claims for at least two weeks. A young indigenous player in the league is understood to have spoken of the deal to be supplied marijuana in return for playing for a side in the under-17 competition.

The coach at the centre of the allegations could not be contacted last night.

At least three key football leaders in the district say they have knowledge of the allegations and some evidence to support the claims, which include:

A NUMBER of indigenous youths playing in the association's under-17s competition being provided marijuana by a coach as an incentive to play in his team.

PLAYERS as young as nine using marijuana.

A YOUNGSTER developing an addiction after being lured from one club to another by the incentive.

A text message intercepted by club officials is understood to add weight to the claims.

Mrs Rowsell said the club at the centre of the allegations had conducted an internal investigation and she assumed there would be a police investigation because it had been reported to police twice in the past fortnight. "It has been mentioned to the chairman of the junior committee," she said.

"It is in the hands of police. I reported it to police on Friday  ... I wanted to show that the Port Lincoln Football League is taking the allegations seriously." Mrs Rowsell said the league had been "trying to sort it out" but she had "no idea" of the outcome of the club's internal investigation.

"If the allegations are proven, it's horrific," she said.

SANFL general manager of football and corporate operations Darren Chandler said the SANFL had not been made aware of the situation but the allegations were very serious and of great concern.
