Shhhh, we have got to stop telling labor the outcomes of each election, they just dig their heels in and sound even more dumb and waste even more of our money trying to impress us. Look at what they have done recently. We now have Booby Car to listen to and watch screw our country.

I think you will find, that we will be well & truly cactus, under the next Federal government!

And that will happen, whoever may win the next Federal election, although I would think the Liberals are likely to win that election!

They (lefty fools) are deluded, unless it was the other way around of course. Even an exit poll from a greeny who gives you their run on the numbers would be enough.

Here is the exit polls from a greeny yes just 2, no 67680

Are federal labor in trouble???

youmean there are people who think not? even the entire federal labor caucus is aware that they are in trouble. you dont lag by an average of 10 points and watch your state colleagues be virtually eliminated and not think your party is in trouble.

Labor's annihilation a warning for Gillard

Julia Gillard has been warned her Government faces a wipe-out similar to Labor's catastrophic defeat in Queensland unless she stops talking about Tony Abbott and starts selling her policies better.

With senior ministers yesterday insisting the Queensland election was decided purely on State issues, former premier Peter Beattie and a Queensland Federal Labor MP, Graham Perrett, were urging the Prime Minister to acknowledge the party was in "crisis".

A massive 15.7 per cent swing saw Labor's 51 seats reduced to as few as seven in Queensland's 89-seat unicameral parliament, amid projections the Liberal National Party will have as many as 78 seats when counting is finished.

If the swing against Labor was repeated at next year's Federal election, Labor would not hold any of the 30 Queensland Federal seats.

It currently has eight, with Kevin Rudd's Brisbane seat of Griffith the safest ALP seat, with a margin of 8.5 per cent.

Ousted premier Anna Bligh yesterday announced she would quit politics after Labor's "shattering" defeat, causing a by-election that premier-in-waiting Campbell Newman said the LNP would contest.

Mr Newman, a close ally of Mr Abbott, is expected to join Premier Colin Barnett in his fight against the Federal Government on the mining tax.

Ms Bligh said the voters had spoken with such clarity that the ALP could not rebuild while she was one of the party's public faces.

Mr Beattie said Labor would face a similar humiliation at the hands of voters unless the rebuilding strategy started immediately, beginning with the PM and her ministers spending more time in Queensland.

"The reality is the party's in crisis so we have to have Federal ministers pouring through Queensland," he told ABC TV.

"We have to spend time selling our policies. Julia needs to buy a house here. We have to sell what the Labor Party's done or we will face a similar wipe-out here."

Mr Perrett, a marginal seat MP who spoke with Ms Gillard shortly before she left for a nuclear summit in Korea yesterday, said that although the election result was heavy with the "it's time" factor, voters had also firmly rejected Labor's strategy to "smear and fear" Mr Campbell.

He said Labor should heed the lesson.

"Personally, I have a problem highlighting Mr Abbott's problems when he's doing a good job of it job himself," Mr Perrett told _The West Australian _ yesterday.

Mr Abbott said the Labor brand was "toxic" nationwide.

"I think Labor members of parliament would be very worried about the fundamental lesson which is that a government which isn't competent, which isn't frugal and which isn't truthful loses and loses big time," he said.
Cabinet minister Anthony Albanese said the election result had long been thought inevitable, but it was decided on Queensland issues.
