Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has promised the Coalition will look into extending its childcare rebate to nannies if it wins government.

Mr Abbott says there needs to be greater flexibility in childcare to enable women to participate more fully in the workforce.

of course he does ... ordinary working class struggle with child care but lets not worry about that ... lets look after nannies of which there are very few hired by only the very well off. ...... surprise ...

50 years ago women had husbands to provide (financial) security.
Nowadays they have the government to fulfil the same role.  The problem is, the government is forever extending it's reach, digging deeper into ALL of our pckets, so we can pay these women to "have it all".

Paid parental leave is a dumb idea, but looks like a stroke of genius compared to this.

Anyone who can afford to employ nannies doesn't need subsidising.
