THREE McDonald's restaurants in Perth have been fined more than $50,000 for health breaches, including selling food and drink containing insects and serving dangerously uncooked meat.

The McDonald's restaurants in Warnbro, Rockingham and Wanneroo have been named and shamed on a Health Department website where they will remain for two years.
They were convicted of:
* Selling half-raw chicken meat in a wrap unfit for human consumption.
* Selling an iced coffee with a cockroach inside.
* Selling a pancake with a cricket embedded in the batter.
The three McDonald's outlets are among 11 restaurants and eateries across Perth, which have been fined more than $258,000 since July last year for shoddy food practices.
The Brighton Bakery in the City of Stirling copped the biggest fine in September last year more than $52,000 for eight separate breaches of the Food Standards Code.
McDonald's on Warnbro Sound Ave, Warnbro, was slugged almost $25,000 in fines and costs in November 2011 when it was found guilty of "selling food that is not of the nature or substance demanded by the purchaser".
A McDonald's on Read St, Rockingham, was fined almost $20,000 in January for selling a drink with a cockroach inside, while another on Wanneroo Rd, Wanneroo, was fined $8000 in December and ordered to pay $1654 in costs when a customer found a cricket in a pancake.
Public Health Institute Advocate Prof Mike Daube said the breaches were "completely unacceptable".
McDonald's said it was "very disappointed these incidents had occurred." Spokeswoman Laura Keith said the cases were regrettable and "inconsistent with our track record".

Sack the store managers to start with! Clearly no regular cleaning is being done. Warnbro Maccas is by far the worst. Kids (staff) with their hair hanging over the food, coughing and then handling food...that alone caused me to cancel my order and drive off. Get managers in there that can actually MANAGE the stores. Provide strict food handling training and clean the bloody entire store bi weekly!!!
