It's easier to win more medals than everyone else on a per capita basis when you have a small population.

It's far easier for Slovenia (pop: 2 million), New Zealand (pop: 4 million), Jamaica (pop: 3 million), Denmark (pop: 5 million), Australia (pop: 22 million) to top the medals per capita table than it is for Great Britain (pop: 63 million), US (pop: 314 million) and China (pop: 1,300 million).

Just to rub it in, here are Great Britain and Australia's standings in the London 2012 medals table as it stands at 14:17 GMT on Tuesday:

Great Britain: 19 golds, 12 silvers, 12 bronzes
Total: 43
3rd in medals table.

Australia: 2 golds, 12 silvers, 8 bronzes.
Total: 22
19th in medals table.

People from Yorkshire are doing fantastically well at London 2012. So far people from Yorkshire have won 4 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes, including gold in the heptathlon (Jessica Ennis) and today won gold and bronze in the triathlon (Alistair Brownlee and his younger brother Johnny Brownlee respectively, the world's top two triathletes).

In fact, at this moment in time, if Yorkshire was an independent nation it would stand tenth in the medals table with twice as many golds as Australia!

How many "imports" were amongst those? ...like your cricket team.
How many "sellout" aussie coaches involved in those medals?

Can't brag about buying sports heroes when your nation is in recession.

2 weeks later, it's back to the cold hard reality of what you've let yourselves in to.

I think the final of the mens 200m is at 8.55pm + 9 hours =
5.55am AEST.

So that will make it tomorrow morning Friday 10th August 5.55am.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That is 8.55pm Thursday 9th August in London.
