Palmer takes a swipe at Swan

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/newshome/13081291/national-living-treasure-palmer-t...

Mining magnate Clive Palmer has been named a National Living Treasure and used the opportunity to take a swipe at Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan.

On Friday, Mr Swan lashed out in a magazine article at what he described as the rising power of super-rich business people who were undermining democracy.

He specifically named the mining magnate.

Mr Palmer was today one of seven Australians named as a National Living Treasure by the New South Wales Branch of the National Trust.

Mr Palmer rejected the Treasurer's criticism saying Mr Swan does not know how the economy works.

"Really he knows that, if the public doesn't know it, he knows he doesn't know how it works," he said.

"He's got to rely on the faceless men in the ALP which all live in Melbourne, all send him faxes and texts, tell him what to do and if he doesn't know he can call his Department and they can tell him what to do.

"But the Australian people will elect soon at the next election a treasurer who knows how to run the economy, how to get this country going again."

It is the first time Mr Palmer has responded to Mr Swan's comments in the opinion piece.

He blamed Labor for destroying the economy.

"We can never forgive the Labor Party for destroying the wealth of the mums and dads and kids that live in this country," he said.

"When I started in business I use to sleep on the floor and take people's charity when I worked for the Salvation Army, I know what it's like to be on the other side and I've got sympathy for those people and I will never desert them."

A spokesman for Mr Swan says Mr Palmer is a big supporter of the Liberal Party and his comments should be seen in that light.
Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John and Dr Karl Kruselnicki were also among those named on the list of Living Treasures

*Sure....they're anti competitive as any subsidised job is.  It wouldn't be there without the tax payer.  Very damned difficult for a brainwashed collectivist to understand that I know....  (swaggy) *

He blamed Labor for destroying the economy.

"We can never forgive the Labor Party for destroying the wealth of the mums and dads and kids that live in this country," he said.

The economy is very strong and improving.....I am presuming destroying the economy is a swipe at Labor's mining tax which he opposes.....Nothing like a fat greedy miner who looks at the economy through the size of his pay packet!!!

Yet Abbott supports cutting Palmer's taxes and letting him keep more of his massive profits.....Abbott should visit a meat pie factory and tell them how he is securing their jobs by letting fat so keep his dough.....He had better not take Joe Hockey though or they might run out of pies for Clive!!!
