another example of why there should never be euthanasia. this is just one step removed from it.

The debate is concerning voluntary euthanasia, not murder.

No one is out to legalise non voluntary death and that includes non voluntary of children.
This is a red herring as is bestiality to marriage equality.

No connection at all.

You unchock the wheel.
If you want to kill yourself...go ahead...it happens all the time...year 7 kid from the local school hung himself in his closet...he was depressed at being bullied...in keeping with current protocols it received no publicity as did the cause...sorry off the point.
But when you institutionalize death and turn it into a cottage industry you change the whole psychology and make it that much easier to make new categories.
It's not a red herring...its just the top of the hill.

but THATs what ends up happening. it's what happens in the Netherlands already and happened in one other euro country who got rid of it because thats EXACTLY what happened.

There is already euthanasia for the terminally ill..its just not talked about.
Doctors just up the dose of Morphine until the patient stops breathing..its quite common.

and thats how we want it to stay. Where it is illegal or right out there on the edge. it is that kind of pressure which stops doctors killing for far less reasons or people pressuring the elderly to die.

say no to VE - FOREVER.

Its a tough one because half way through last week I was praying for a quick and painless death. A few days later I was on the mend..today Im back at the Gym, full of beans and ready for work next week.
But seriously..Euthanasia is an important topic and as a supporter I reckon it should be an election issue.

Yeh, its debate should be given priority over the racist bigoted war mongering propaganda circus we are forced to listen to/look at NOW atleast!

if it was happening and that's a big if, then it's the construction of the law, not the issue of V.E.

Those that are anti free choice concerning voluntary euthanasia, where do you people stand concerning smoking and smoking deaths related with addiction and passive smoking?

When the state is involved in killing - there is no voluntary about it, the motives are transparent and translucent.  My life and my death must remain totally in my hands and free of the state.  If I want to jump off a bridge or blow my brains out, so be it, I reserve the right to decide to do that.  I object in the strongest possible terms to the state playing god and a Euthanasia program is just that a step towards the abolishing of the sanctity and the inalienable right to life.  No law can be passed on this issue that I would ever recognize the legitimacy of - this is not a popularity contest or a matter of a vote - I will never recognize the states right to terminate life through Euthanasia and would regard every instance as malicious state murder.  I consider anyone who advocates state euthanasia to be an advocate of Nazi eugenics and mass murder. Sure the state should not engage in wars that force non~voluntary death

i.e illegal invasions and causing civil wars via invasions and throwing over the country's government.

Nope, the state has no right to kill period. Cool Cool Cool

Have you called for at any time, for our troops to be brought home from Afghanistan?

Yes, I have not supported any of the Greens Communist nation building or Mentoring expeditions in the Middle East...  Nobody in their right mind supports the Greens and their crank interventionist violence.  I did not support Bob Browns or your call for the assassination of Qaddafi and intervention in Libya either...Why are the Greens so violent extremist warmongers who want to play god over peoples lives?  The Greens and the state should not be allowed anywhere near weapons they are far too dangerous and violent. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

So you are a Greenie at heart

Australia should follow the lead of Canada and the Netherlands and bring our combat troops home from Afghanistan, Greens Leader Bob Brown said today.

"Canada's 2,800 combat troops are preparing to go home. The Netherlands have already gone, after the collapse of public support and the Dutch government over whether to extend their mission," Senator Brown said in Hobart.

"A Galaxy poll at the weekend showed most Australians want our troops brought home from Afghanistan and that should be heeded by the Government and Opposition. This level of opposition is higher than during the Vietnam War."

There have been 27 Australian Defence Force personnel killed and 181 ADF members wounded in action in Afghanistan since 2002.

Australians protest Iraq war

As part of an international weekend of protest on the fourth anniversary of the US-British-Australian invasion of Iraq, 800 people participated in an anti-war rally and march on March 17 that began at Sydney Town Hall.

Demanding an end to the US-led war in Iraq, the protesters also called for the Australian troops and Guantanamo Bay detainee David Hicks to be brought home.

Speakers at the protest, organised by the Sydney Stop the War Coalition, included Greens Senator Kerry Nettle, NSW Labor MLC Meredith Burgmann, NSW Council of Civil Liberties vice-president David Burnie and Maritime Union union of Australia Sydney assistant branch secretary Paul Garrett.

No dude, I am not Politically inclined to support any of the extremists in the Parliament and I do not care what the Greens statement of Faith says - I know by their actions that they support interventionism, assassinations and war.

A statement of faith proves nothing Greens - absolutely nothing, I here you by what you obsess about, what motivates you and its base greed, power and violence. Roll Eyes Tongue

No problem with someone if they wish to top themselves going ahead...so you have a free choice.
It is happening in the Netherlands and there are quite a few papers on the subject...there are no ifs about it
But there is no good reason to involve the state.

I believe the conscious energy / souls of all humans are joined and that there is only one of us here.

That all life is connected in the same way.

All life past, present and future is connected via one conscious energy (some may call godliness.)

That the recognition of oneness will spark an increase in selfishness by everyone to put oneself first  (the united one )

A one world democratic government is an extension of this recognised oneness, compared to the nationalistic separation of the current system.

Are we closer now?
