I think great if a speaker can ake the government answer the actual questions and applaud him on principal however in this case I think the convention is to give the answerer a bit of latitude on the topic.

I think she was addressing a relivant part of the issue, I have seen much worse in this reguard.

one day you might criticse labor....

or not.

... and a FUNCTIONAL ( ... getting the job done) MINORITY GOVERNMENT - just got a bit HEALTHIER

Lowest polling since Opinion polls began?
First Government to lose a majority after one term in just under a century?

Popular aren't they Buzz?
Grin

As popular as brussel sprouts on a kids dinner plate. Some kids will love them, some kids will just eat them because they are told to and most think they are plain awful.

So it isn't about good governance lolly? It's about being popular. That's all that is important to you?

Its actually about DEMOCRATIC govt - not good govt. It's about the people saying how they want the place run. Thats the highest pririty in any democracy. Not many understand that.

Slipper also sat down Julie Bishop during suspension of standing orders for not being relevant and refused to let Abbott have one more question.....The fact he sat Julia Gillard down after she was not being relevant was very good for our democratic process.....Politicians on both sides act like children who need to be made to behave like adults!!!

with Jenkins the opposition were quite often not allowed more questions on the same topic..

if Julia is been told to get on with it.. it will be a first thats for sure..

I dont have any problems with any of them being to to get on with answering the question..

Jenkins was a biased twit. I don't understand why Gillard was so upset when he resigned.

I know most of the neo cons cant see past their hatred but I still reckon Slipper is doing a bang up job as speaker and along with Julia sticking it up the "useless men" in the coalition things have perked up in politics since Kev accidently threw himself on the grenade.

You'd be the only one. both sides of parliament think he is a jerk and he is ONLY there for political convenience. Harry jenkins has actually laughed at him.
