How could Gillard nominate Bob Carr
Feb 29th, 2012 at 6:48am

as foreign minister without he winning an MP seat in Federal Labor?

I guess he can be be thrust into a vacancy in the senate.

Bob Carr is far too smart to join a sinking ship!

A typical Gillard side-stepping response. My question was "COULD" he be given such a seat when he hadn't been elected in that government?

If Carr joined the gov it was in a SENATE seat ,moron, not a house of reps. Fair dinkum, it amazes me how morons like you manage to wipe your ass. When a senator from either side resigns their position is replaced by the state they represent, dog you're stupid. Roll Eyes

---------

I am aware that the Fed. Gov. can nominate anyone for a vacant senate seat  - my question was, could a foreign ministerial seat be given to one who hadn't been elected to the Lower House.

A very reasonable question and you, bucketing me with sh*t,  doesn't make you rise in anybody's estimation.

You should be added to Alan Jones' chaff bag.

More lies from the union controlled brown nosing pathetically incompetent Miss Gillard who said Mike Arbib's resigning was a complete surprise, yet the lying despicable Miss Gillard offered the job to Bob Carr last week.

Wisely, Bob Carr decided to not climb aboard the HMAS Litanic with Slipper in the crow's nest, possibly Thomson in a suspended lifeboat, and a Rudder down below - whatever is that gigantic white thing on the horizon dead ahead ?

Miss Gillard is just a useless brown nosing puppet controlled on one side by the faceless union power brokers in Sussex Street and on the other side by Prime Minister Bob Brown of the Communist Greens.

The forecast from the wise and wonderful is that Miss Gillard will be forcibly replaced by the faceless Sussex Street union power brokers after about 6-9 months as it is widely expected that Miss Gillard's polling will approach 20% or less by then.

Simon Boring Cream complained that a person should serve their time and establish their brown nosing credentials before getting a foreign minister job and he objected to a rank outsider like Bob Carr being brought in.

Wide spread flooding is being blamed on Global Worming drying up.

Maybe I am just not a nailed-on party hack - but I have always quite liked and respected Bob Carr.

Skip old son,
Your one line description of yourself is of interest to no one but yourself.

If you are unable to do any research due to lack of intelligence, education, or whatever just pass on by because by just posting a description of the failings you subconsciously see in your self you are simply telling one and all that you agree with the post but it makes you angry because it demonstrates that some of your cherished beliefs are just self delusional rubbish.

It is beneficial for you to discover that one or more of your cherished beliefs are just self delusional rubbish because this cleanses your soul and helps you to skip to a higher level of consciousness.

This is why no one should ever trust posters who are known liars and socks......Where did you get your lie from 2GB???

http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/gillard-personally-pushed-carr-for-...

Gillard personally pushed 'Carr for Senate' bid

Julia Gillard discussed with Bob Carr on Monday night coming to Canberra and becoming the Minister for Foreign Affairs but the idea collapsed following internal resistance.

This website understands that the former foreign minister, Stephen Smith, opposed the move because he is the first in line for the job which he gave up to Kevin Rudd in 2010 after Mr Rudd lost the prime ministership

But there was also strong support in the cabinet for the Carr proposal, with several senior ministers supporting the idea, including Treasurer Wayne Swan and Finance Minister Penny Wong.

Sources have told Fairfax Media that it was Mr Swan who rang Mr Carr on Tuesday morning to tell him Mr Smith and others were resisting the idea and, reluctantly, the offer was off.

Those who supported Mr Carr coming to Canberra believe details of the offer were leaked to this website, which broke the story yesterday morning, to expose it and help kill it off.

It is understood that Ms Gillard spoke to Mr Carr at least twice on Monday night after the NSW Senator, Mark Arbib, announced he was resigning, and that there would be a casual vacancy in the Senate.

Senior sources have told this website that Ms Gillard rang Mr Carr "two or three times" after the NSW Labor general secretary, Sam Dastyari, rang her and suggested Mr Carr would be an ideal replacement for both Mr Arbib in the Senate and to fill Mr Rudd's shoes as foreign minister.

Mr Dastyari rang Mr Carr and put the suggestion to him.

Mr Carr was seriously considering the offer. Both the Defence and Foreign Affairs portfolios were discussed but he said he would only be interested in Foreign Affairs.

It is now likely Mr Smith, the Minister for Defence, will take Foreign Affairs.

Sources have rejected emphatically reports today that Ms Gillard rang Mr Carr last week, before Senator Arbib resigned. The first contact was on Monday night, they say

Probably, much more than you --

I know that it was the senate that, by refusing supply,
got rid of Whitlam while the semi-literate voters blamed John Kerr.

I know that a bi-election is unnecessary to refill a senate seat but question, can a refill for a senate seat be parachuted to the Lower House as a refill for the foreign minister?

I think Bob Carr would be good in that role but how would Labor react to such shenanigans by the conservatives?

PS: Bob Carr didn't stand in either House in the last Federal Election.

Surely, a fill-in in the senate can't equate to a fill-in for a foreign ministerial position?

Rudd would be gritting his teeth!
