We should have an IQ test for voting rights.

I have always been of that belief.

Postmodern Trendoid III wrote on Feb 4th, 2012 at 5:08pm:
"Intelligence" in the academe seems to mean "criticize the West or Australia with impunity and side with non-Western countries and peoples." With this "amazing" insight, they then think that they're morally and intellectually superior to all those who support Australia and the West, namely, the conservatives.

In reality, it is a sign of intellectual retardation to turn against one's culture. To set about to destroy the very country and culture that feeds, clothes, and protects you is tantamount to complete idiocy. There's nothing morally or intellectually superior in supporting backward cultures that can't even feed themselves, won't allow women to be educated, won't support innovation and technology, and are in constant civil war.

Actually it is your type of thinking and arrogance that leads to retardation.

Think about it; how would human beings ever advance and achieve anything unless the more intelligent people realised that something was wrong?

People like you who are pleased with "the way things are already" would have us living in a backwards monarchy/dictatorship. Let me guess, you are against universal voting too. How about universal healthcare and education? People like you were against these things that intellectuals promoted.

People like you who think that their own culture is so great remind of a dog licking its own balls - completely oblivious to the nausea it creates in the more intelligent beings in the vicinity.

...In contemporary society, it is the liberal-egalitarian view that is normative and socially conservative, since for long now that has been the official establishment view and also the safe, socially acceptable position being conserved. Racial consciousness and traditionalism is the radical, anti-establishment position....

Quote:
Social conservatives were defined as people who agreed with a laundry list of statements such as "Family life suffers if mum is working full-time," and "Schools should teach children to obey authority."
Attitudes toward other races were captured by measuring agreement with statements such as "I wouldn't mind working with people from other races."

I think it sounds great but there are a few questions. Is the average IQ not increasing a few percent with each generation. So how do you explain that the general population are scared of their own shadow and flocking to ultra conservative dogma. Both major parties in this country are very conservative. Any suggestion of progressive values is attacked relentlessly by the media and business.
Then you have the contradiction where the sheep are accepting extreme insecurity in the work place in return for their little bag of gold. Personally i find the population are generally ignorant, don't understand the issues and tie everything to money in their pocket. Life has no meaning to them other wise concepts like deforestation and endanger species would be on the concern list. The truth is they don't care so long as their pocket is full. They would buy an Australian made shoe rather than feed big money to companies that exploit third world workers then pay the few executives big bonuses in the Uass. WE are dumb plain and simple.

The answer must be that the lefties are very very much smarter and extremely rare nairbe  Grin

I must say that from the hilarious defensive positions on this thread the study must be truer than I imagined.

you of all people know that the trolling value can't be resisted sometimes Imp. And if it comes back to bite me, well I got my money's worth  Grin

I'm smart enough to say that I don't think there's any such thing as an objective assessment of intelligence.

I have 2 degrees, a Masters and am a qualified member of the ICAEW.

I am a Conservative in my core beliefs.

All of this from hard work and getting nothing from a Government.

Yet all the time the Governments are trying to bring the lower people up in education and failing.

Strange eh?
Someone with conservative beliefs can succeed against the odds and yet others fail despite getting so much more.

Through my life I have found some of the most intelligent people with little qualification and working for low pay.

I have also seen some of the less intelligent loaded with degrees and working in senior management.

Education is much more related to finance and persistence than intelligence.

Conservative and racist beliefs linked to low IQ

I wonder if monitoring this site was a component used to justify this finding.

Just by you asking this question and your politics bent, you just know the answer to that would have to be a resounding NO.
