I dont support Communism but I do think the genocidal rampages of a few mad men should not be confused with Communism. After all...Milosevic did not claim to be a Communist nor did Adolf, in fact they both clearly stated they hated Communists. As for Pol Pot he was supported in his fight against Vietman by the USA anti Communist govt of the time.
Modern Communism is clearly working in China.

why not? Stalin and Mao might have topped the list of communist mass-murderers but they were not preceded or succeeded by human rights activists. each and every communist dictator has been a mass-murderer. Some just went well above the usual quota.

Communism in China is now basically state organised capitalism. They are hell bent on establishing world markets for profit and further investment. Just look at how our market is saturated with Chinese goods.
Also, recently they have passed bills supporting (some) private property.

they grab just enough capitalist principles to enable them to have an actual economy and nothing more. History has shown that communism is the worlds worst ever economic model. Unbridled capitalism can be an ugly thing at times but at least some people got rich and the people were fed. under communism NO ONE was rich and very few were fed.

I agree it proves my point that a govt can give itself any title it likes be it Communist, Democratic or whatever it doesnt mean its true.
Modern Communism is just dictatorial centralised capitalism with a huge dose of protectionism under a different name...and it works  Smiley

Interesting then that woody was a ward of the state in NZ and he left the country as soon as he could.

Surely being a woofter had some role in that.

all we have to do to compete with China is force them to have actual environmental, industrial and OH&S laws (if we could). they have a form of slavery or indentured servitude, no respect for the environment at all and no real interest in safety for employees or any real interest in safe products.

their cheaper labor is a smokescreen for everything else they do cheap - or not at all.

Apparently those supporters of communism seem to forget its penchant for child slavery.

I am sure somewhere you will be able to tell me what is wrong with that.

So I leave a role in Australia/Canada and there is a role in the United States offering a chance for me to look after my family and pay their way - I should turn it down because its not in my own country??

im just wondering if there is any one or any thing that you give allegiance to or if everything is defined by its advantage (or otherwise) to you.

If it's racism to speak out against first Australians living in Australia who speaks as though they are not Australians then I AM A RACIST

As for the climate change - that's been going on for the last 4,600,000,000 years so what's your point?

If that's the best answer you can give, just forget I asked the question....

Can you explain where you see this link between Communism and racism?  I don't see Communists as being any more racist as a whole than most other political groups.  The only ones that come to mind as being particularly racist are Fascists, a great deal of whom are undoubtedly racist.

As a member of the Libertarian left I've never been able to tell the difference between Communists and fascists.

You are just pissed we now know you frequent gay bars and it takes less than four beers for a gay man to fall on you without a fight.

Ive always said that there is no difference between the extreme left and the extreme right. they both mass-murder and crush human rights.

No you should stay there and stop interfering in the ideas of the country you turned your back on because the silver plater needed a shine and you were above such menial labour.

There was an interesting study done in the Uass, the link i have lost and it is no longer available, but it went along the lines that with executive performance the higher the pay the poorer the performance outcomes.

And what on earth does that have to do with racism, which is what  the question you quoted was about?
