Are they called philistines or palestinians?
There is no letter "P" in Arab. "Palestine" is an English corrutpion of the Semitic name Falasteen.

The Quran mentions Israel.
If the Quran is the words of Allah then Allah recognises Israel which is something muslims cannot do.
Mentioned in the Qur'an is "the Tribes of Israel" - meaning the offspring of Prophet Jacob. Prophet Jacob and his son, Prophet Joseph are recognised by Muslims as are the tribes of Israel. Just because the Quran mentions the tribes of Israel does not mean that the modern state of Israel is legitimate. If I start an organisation and name it "Israel" does that mean that I can go around stealing land? Most citizens of the mosern state of Israel are not even descended from the tribes of Israel anyway.
Quote:Muslims misquote this verse frequently they leave out the first bit because the reality is this verse does not apply to muslims yet they will make out it does when they leave out the first bit.
Quote:We have decreed for the children of Israel......
When did muslims become known as the children of Israel?
http://quran.com/5/32 The early tribes of Israel were Muslims. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph were all Muslims.
And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], "
O my sons, indeed God has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims." http://quran.com/2/132
...Or were you witnesses
when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."http://quran.com/2/133
Say, [O believers], "We have believed in God and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
http://quran.com/2/136
Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is God?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from God? And God is not unaware of what you do.
http://quran.com/2/140
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was an Orthodox Muslim. And he was not of the polytheists.
http://quran.com/3/67
Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to God ] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And God is the ally of the Believers.
http://quran.com/3/68
Say, "We have believed in God and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."
http://quran.com/3/84
And strive for God with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty.
[It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. God named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give alms and hold fast to God. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.

Tick all the boxes for all translators as some words like "democracy" do not have an equivalent in the arabic language.
What is the point you are trying to make? Modern Arabic, like Modern English, uses the Greek word. Arabised it becomes "deemoqraatiyyah" (ديمقراطية).
