why am i firing up? what kind of question is that?

there's like five topics in the general discussion board themed on racism and they're the only threads being posted in at the moment - what am i supposed to talk about otherwise?

ive hardly even assumed a prominent role in any of these 'debates' anyway - i'm just having fun. girls just gotta have fun.

No.

I asked why you hate the boongs and wogs so much, Imperium. It's a fair enough question, don't you think?

If you asked me why I love boongs, wogs, Amerika, Mother England and Denmark; all, I'd tell you.

The right answer is they did. Before they were systematically wiped out.

Yes, I know they many died quietly from smallpox and influenza to make way for the superior genepool. But the ones who survived were shot or rounded onto missions, where to speak an Aboriginal language was forbidden.

Hence we use knives and forks and speak English here - not some Abo monkey talk.

I guess that uh...sometimes poo happens.
But again, off on a tangent.  I didn't say anything about the nature of the takeover that allowed whitey to come into control of this country.  Only that it DID happen. Whitey DID take over, and when they did, they built the nation of Australia, with it's motto:

"By whitey for whitey"

Again, Honky, you're mistaken. Phillip's orders were to make friends with the local natives and create a society WITH them. And Phillip did this, taking Aboriginals into his household in Sydney. When he went home, he befriended and took the Abo Bennelong back to England to meet King George III.

Australia was only made for whitey with the White Australia Policy in 1901. This followed new colonial ideas about the supremacy of the white race, including - and Imperium will know this one - the new discourse of eugenics.

This is what you base your ideas on, but it was in vogue only for a very short period of time (the late Victorian era to the post-WWII boom). The British Empire was multi-racial. Today, the global economy is multi-racial. There was a short period of racial exclusiveness in between, and this is what you base your entire view of history on.

1901...1901....You mean Federation?  Australias birth as a nation?

So,  the following statement is correct:

The nation of australia was built for whitey by whitey.

So, what the hell are you arguing about?

You got me there, Honky.

Soo...uh...where do we go from here? seems kinda....anti-climactic.

OOOhh I know:

The standard of life in Australia was better in 1973 than it is today.  I blame the abolition of the nations founding principle:  The white australia policy, otheriwse known as "By whitey, for whitey"

Of course it was. You're a member of that select group known as the old boys. It was always better in the past.

What I don't understand is Imperium. He's a young guy, he's travelled a bit (to Amerika, anyway), he seems like an intelligent guy.

Is it just isolation? Is it just being insulated all your life from different people? What is it that makes a person racist?

Nar.  I've lived in 3 countries and spent time on 4 continents.  Spent 7 months in thailand.  Know, and are close to plenty of non-whites.
It could be a lack of travel, but different people have different reasons.  Mine is logic.  What's it to you anyway?  Why are you the way you are?

Huh
Well anyhoo
just to clear things up... what makes for racism??    FEAR.!!!

Simple as that.  Simple as THAT!!  - whether YOU see it or not.

Now getting to mre serious things.........  about all those feral camels,!! which someone blamed on the Afghan herders  Grin Grin Roll Eyes

...now there is an op going begging. I know some canny folk are starting to benefit, but, lets face it,  what could be better than wild fresh studs to the Arabs who live for camels, and racing them.  What an asset.!!  They shouldn't be here, competing for food with our native critters
( NOT talking COWS)....

,, so some smart entrepreneur  - given the right timing,  .. could come in, survey Central Aus , establishing pops of Camels,.... and AH HA !!!!   there is MORE...

Feral Pigs and Buffalo!!!!  cull all diseased or inbred , and market them.
Not just the Camels, !!  altho... get a strain of swift strong ones and you'd make a fortune ..... ( much more to this idea).
No ... the wild pigs.!!!   Food on the hoof,  and major environmental vandals... !!!
Best Pork I ever ate was wild pig from SW QLD.  What an asset-- FOOD....
cull all worm-infested or diseased animals,  .. contain and manage the rest.  Everybody wins.!!

AND the Buffalo,  fearsome creatures fron SE Asia, who have made a real happy home for themselves in Northern Australia.  And again..Env. VANDALS...!  AND   Food on the hoof. !!

SO, who ever is smart enough to see the opportunities,  and the money, etc could make a fortune, feed the world, .. and rid Aus of major feral pests. !!!!

SIGH.!! Smiley

Imperium, you're a textbook racist. You believe the white man is superior to all others and want racial segregation and exclusion. Unlike other racists, you've even got a theory to back it up.

And that's YOUR idea of a racist, not mine. I don't get it. If you've travelled it means you've met and spent time with others. You're not deluded by neocon ideology like Soren and Yadda, so why would you seek to exclude and discriminate against people you hardly know?

This isn't an attack, I'm trying to understand. In my own experience, I've travelled, lived and worked with people from other races and cultures my whole life. Of course I see diffeences between cultures, but the idea of hanging out with what you call my own kind makes absolutely no sense to me. I work with Indians, Chinese, Aboriginals, Europeans and can't imagine anything different. Because of this, I'm always amazed when I go overseas and see people from the same religion, language and culture living in the same place together. I forget that, to most in the world, an outsider like a white man is a complete novelty. And I haven't experienced racism either. Perhaps I'm just lucky.

I can't fathom why you would seek to exclude someone based on something ike their race. Honky, I understand. Essentially, he fears difference. Soren too - like many immigrants, he turns his nose up at the latest wave. In his case, the Musemann, although anyone will do.

And again, I'm not saying anything they haven't said themselves.

But if what you say is true, I can't for the life of me understand why you would find the cause of racism so important - and it is important to you.

You're a nice guy. You should be out enjoying the company of others, not looking for reasons and theories about why they're somehow inferior to you.

I assme something's happened that's scarred you in some way. Either that, or you've grown up in an incredibly xenophobic culture.

Let me tell you though: it's not a universal state of human existance. It's hatred, fear, or both. When there is nothing to fear or hate.

If there is, please let me know. I keep asking this, but nobody wants to tell me.
