REBELLION is not what most people think it is.
REBELLION is when you turn off the TV & start educating & thinking for yourself.

The whole length of the presidential campagne is incredible. It really is amazing that after all sh1t flinging and venomous attitudes that anyone would vote for any of them never mind give a sh1t after the campagne ended. We are tired of what has been a non stop campagne by Abbott since the last election but the Uass seems to be eternally in an election cycle.

Weaker nations make alliances with the powerful for very good reasons Green, and have always done so which history supports.
Unfortunately your left wing utopian mind is without any historical reference whatsoever, and is yet to comprehend this.
If the US wasn't in the Pacific during WW2, we could well be still speaking Japanese by now, and people like yourself would have been used as bayonet practice by rampaging Japanese soldiers.

People like myself, 300,000 of them where able to defend my land from Brits, Australians and South Africans. So size is second to not having a defeatist attitude, where one hides behind another's flag in the corner of it's own, a treaty worth nothing and a sycophantic attitude to towing every line told to tow, the a US dictator.

Time for Australians to shirk their cowardice and stand up for ourselves. If we don't believe in ourselves, then no one will.

NZ has and is part of an alliance still today just as Australia is.
Nothings changed.
Weaker nations will always make alliances with the powerful.
It is the natural order of things.

My wife & I were on holiday in the US during May 2008 and the election coverage in the US is certainly much more extensive than it is here.

In terms of whether the election coverage is too much, I would simply observe that in all elections, Policy & real Political content are 1% and Political spin is 99%!

Us election coverage in my newspaper takes up 1 page - a similar amount of coverage to what gay marriage gets.
Who will lead one of the worlds most powerful nations vs a few homos playing house.
Hmm...what's getting too much coverage?

Its been over a decade since I regularly read a news paper. I found they were not willing to give me much news or actual data they only wanted to pre analyse information mostly get it wrong and then try to tell me what to think based on their obviously erroneous or dishonest conclusions

Using the Australian media is probably the best way to ensure that you don't know what you are talking about.

But it's still light years ahead of the net as a reliable news source.

Ok I just flicked through almost 80+ channels on the TV.

The election coverage or discussion of it is on 2 stations right now - C-Span and MSNBC.

2.

In contrast there are 6 games of basketball, both college and NBA, 4 games of ice hockey, about 4 different versions of Judge Judy and even Die Hard 2.

Given its electing the most important and most powerful person in the world, the coverage is about right.
