Movies you have seen lately
Dec 30th, 2011 at 7:30pm

I just watched "Iron Lady" at the cinema.  I thought Meryl Streep played Maggie absolutely down pat.   Although i disagreed with some of her policies (breaking the coal miners, poll tax) Maggie really held on against huge male opposition.  Meryl Streep's performance of her as PM during the Falklands war was outstanding - and I belive most probably pretty accurate

A good movie - and thankfully one the kids, teens and gen X and Y will have no interest in - just us old fogies!

That's one movie that that I'd like to see.
Do they have a scene showing her balls?

Wild Target is a cracker, especially if you watch it with a couple of pre-teen boys, while mum is away.

I recommend Dean Spanley.

Have any of you seen Keeping Mum? Not so good for pre teenage boys, but a nice film to watch with your partner.

The Song of Solomon scene makes the movie for me - if you haven't seen it, it's about a husband rediscovering his passion for his wife. Rowan Atkinson's reading of the passage is beautiful:

No, but they do have one showing your snatch.

I haven't been to see anything at a cinema for some time now, but I would like to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  The Artist sounds interesting too.

As for DVDs, as the ones I've bought recently have all been of TV shows (almost all of Poirot, the Jeremy Brett series of Sherlock Holmes and the complete series of Inspector Morse), it's a while since I've watched any movies on DVD too.

The last movie I watched on TV was Legally Blonde, last night.

*GASP*

Why you little.................

Modern movies are great if you want a slick, but bland and soulless yawnfest, designed to win snooty awards rather than entertain the viewer.
Much like music, movies have been on a downward spiral since the 80's.

It's hard to go past a Charley Bronson movie.

I wouldn't have any problem in going past one.  They all seem to be rather violent....
