I mentioned earlier that people whipped in Saudi Arabia are allowed to wear thick clothing. But the usual morons just want to focus on the British colonial method of whipping adminsitered in former colonies like Singapore and Malaysia instead.

The Saudi Government has also mercifully lightened the sentence, considering the prisoners ill-health:

"Saudi Arabian authorities have granted Mr Almaribe a pardon from his prison sentence, and his corporal punishment was also greatly reduced and administered in a way that did not cause physical harm," a spokeswoman for Foreign Affairs Minister Kevin Rudd said.
