Celebrate diversity!

The Irish Mohammedan Army

October 29, 2011 11:09 A.M. By Mark Steyn
When readers on the National Review 50th anniversary cruise round the British Isles woke up one morning to find themselves anchored just off Waterford, several of them commented to me that the view looked almost too perfectly Irish. Waterford is the oldest city in the country, and the surrounding 40 shades of Kilkenny green on a beautiful summer’s morn made it appear like the opening shot of a Disney movie about a cute leprachaun.

But looks can be deceptive. My former colleagues at The Irish Times report:

THE KNOCK ON THE DOOR of Ali Charaf Damache’s Waterford home came on the morning of March 9th last year. Within hours, news of the arrests of Damache and six others detained during searches of 10 addresses in Waterford and Cork had rippled across the world. The four men and three women were held in relation to an alleged plot to kill Lars Vilks, a Swedish cartoonist who had depicted the prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog. Adding to the intrigue was the fact that two female converts from the US, including one Colleen R LaRose, who used the internet pseudonym Jihad Jane, were being linked to the alleged plot.

I was at a Danish Free Press Society conference with Lars Vilks in Copenhagen last year. He’s an old secular Euroleftie who thinks he should be able to do the same jokes about Islam as he does about everything else. He came home one evening to find the jihad boys had firebombed his kitchen. As they escaped across the snowy field heady with the thrill of their glorious victory, they noticed that they’d accidentally set their clothes on fire, and, after some effort to extinguish them, were forced to discard their smoking trousers. Unfortunately, in abandoning their pants and scampering off through the icy night in their jihadist BVDs, they neglected to remove the charred driver’s licenses and other identifying documentation, from which police were able easily to track them down. Muslim terrorists are all Yosemite Ahmeds – until one of them succeeds.

Lars Vilks takes all this in good humor. Nevertheless, it is still faintly stunning to me that you can find within a population the size of Waterford and Cork seven Muslims willing to participate in a plot to kill a Swedish artist. Even at the height of the Irish “Troubles”, you’d have been hard put to find seven residents of Waterford willing to participate in a plot to kill, say, a British cabinet minister. But things are different now:

Damache allegedly sent a message to Khalid, asking him to recruit online ‘some brothers that can travel freely . . . with EU passports.’

On his Facebook profile, Breivik described himself as a Christian,[23] though he is critical of the Catholic and Protestant churches, objecting to their "current suicidal path". Before the attacks, he stated an intention to attend Frogner Church in a final "Martyr's mass".[141]

The manifesto states its author is "100 percent Christian",

From Wikipedia.

And my feminist ideals are firmly in place, thank you. I hate rape and rapists - all the more reason not to use rape victims as a tool in a racist agenda.

he acknowledges his, and his continents christian heritage not his personal beliefs.

Quote:
Breivik writes in his manifesto that he is not religious, has doubts about God's existence, does not pray, but does assert the primacy of Europe's "Christian culture" as well as his own pagan Nordic culture. ... [He also] affirms: "As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. ... Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I'm not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."

"As this is a cultural war, our definition of being a Christian does not necessarily constitute that you are required to have a personal relationship with God or Jesus," he writes. "Being a Christian can mean many things; That you believe in and want to protect Europe's Christian cultural heritage. ... It is not required that you have a personal relationship with God or Jesus in order to fight for our Christian cultural heritage and the European way. ... It is enough that you are a Christian-agnostic or a Christian atheist (an atheist who wants to preserve at least the basics of the European Christian cultural legacy (Christian holidays, Christmas and Easter)). The PCCTS, Knights Templar is therefore not a religious organisation [sic] but rather a Christian 'culturalist' military order."

Over and over again, Breivik goes out of his way to make clear to readers of his manifesto that he is not motivated by Christian faith. "I'm not going to pretend I'm a very religious person, as that would be a lie," he says. "I've always been very pragmatic and influenced by my secular surroundings and environment.

Now that the dangers of quoting opinions published on wikipedia have been exposed, I wonder why you thought that painting a nutbag as a christian absolves muslims of repsponsibility for their own abhrorent behaviour?

Quote:
Breivik claimed that he is a Christian in various forums, but most explicitly and in greatest detail in the 1,500-page manifesto he compiled over several months and posted on the Internet.

"At the age of 15 I chose to be baptised (sic) and confirmed in the Norwegian State Church," the 32-year-old Breivik wrote. "I consider myself to be 100 percent Christian."

I guess you'll just have to read the entire manifesto to find out the truth, yes? I'm sure it will be riveting reading for you.

I don't think that at all. I object to any suggestion that Muslim men are more likely to rape than their Christian brothers. Men of all races and religions rape - it is overwhelmingly a male thing, not a Muslim or a Christian thing.

Thats the problem with the whole egalitarain bizzo.  If you compile data of different groups, there is ALWAYS going to be "winners" and "losers."
If you measured the weight of every man, woman and child in the world and divided into racial groups, one would be, on average the heaviest and one would be the lightest.  if you did the same for height, again there's a hierarchy.  Take any trait you want, and we're not all going to return identical data. It mightn't be a great differnce, or an important difference but for gods sake - there IS a difference.    To suggest otherwise is to say there is no such thing as diversity - and it's quite puzzling why you, and those who share your views would argue that diversity is so wonderful, yet at the same time, doesn't even exist.

I don't really give a crap about diversity, Spam. Certainly not for its own sake. I care about discrimination (especially when it's supported by lies) and inequality. Not a single one of us matters or deserves more or less  because of our race or religious belief. I think it's a moral obligation on the people who have a surplus of the basic necessities of life to share it with those who struggle to make it through every day, whatever their skin colour.

People, animals, everything favours their own.  When the very foundation of an ideology is built trying to suppress this natural, understandable and indomitable instinct, it is doomed to fail.  The question is how muich destruction are you going to wreak before you realise this and give up?

More diversity news from Africa:

...
Hundreds of residents in two restive northern Nigerian cities have fled their homes, fearing more violence after a series of bombs swept the country, killing 40 people. Damaturu, which was struck by two blasts on Sunday, killing three, has been at the centre of clashes between Islamists and authorities in recent days, and saw groups gathered at bus and taxi stations looking to leave.

Meanwhile in Potiskum, residents fled after arsonists set alight 30 Christian-owned shops as well as the home of a Christian leader, on Sunday night in what appeared to be the continuation of religious violence that peaked with the bombing of churches on Christmas Day. "I can't stay here any longer," a man waiting at a bus stop in Potiskum told the Reuters news agency. "It's peaceful today, but it's no guarantee that in the next hours it will remain the same,"

Marilyn Ogar, a spokesman for the State Security Services would not confirm the number of arrests made in connection with the incidents, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigations. But she told the Daily Telegraph that police are "arresting as many people as possible" for questioning.

The Islamist group Boko Haram, which has ties to al-Qaeda and aims to impose sharia law across Africa's most populous country, claimed responsibility for the attacks. Nigeria's population is 167 (million), with just over 50 per cent Muslim, and 48 per cent Christian.

It is the second Christmas in a row that it has targeted churches with deadly results, leading to fears that it could set off a new round of sectarian clashes. "The attack on churches is to nationalise the crisis," said Shehu Sani, a rights activist based in Nigeria's north. "It will instigate hitherto neutral people into the crisis. Christians may want to take revenge on Muslims and this is dangerous for the country."

The militants and the 'extremists' are the essence of Islam. They are for true Islam.

Marvellous analysis there, old chap. Do you have a quote from Jihadwatch?

Shutting up criticism of Islam is obviously an extremist position and the 'peaceful mainstream' Muslims have nuffin do wiv it.

What's that?
It is a policy of the Islamic congress?
Shurely shome mishtake.

Humans are our own. If it goes any further ie skin colour and religion its just you and your type that reject the rest despite them accepting you.
