A good close competative game where both sides bring out the best example of the sport they are playing.
Although I follow the Blues in League, I walked out at half-time because it was a dismal display of dropped balls, simple tactics and kicking. If I wanna watch kicking - I'll watch AFL or Soccer, eh

Sure, Union has got its 'rules' correct by 90% but Union is so set in 'traditions' that they become 'predictable'. League isn't so traditional, its rules are upon a whim and thus you just never know who might win mostly. Take the Penrith GF win from last place.
If I'm gonna waste 80mins or more of my life sitting like a person who has autism and just stares at something. Then I want it to be a bloody good game!
Sure I have my favourite teams: Cronulla/Geelong/Rebels/Redbacks/Swifts/Mariners
...but if they lose in a really good game, then I still feel like a winner.
I turn off League quite a lot because it is a terrible example of a sport where rules are just flimpant and pathetic. Its our premier 'tackling' game and even that has gone out the window. In AFL, there are 80% less great leaping marks, than the old days. Even their rules are out the window.
I find the VIDEO REF/UMP and absolute joke in all codes.
If a Ref/Ump can't call it as HE/SHE sees it - then what's the point?

After the game - video assess the refs/umps upon their success rate of calling the game. The more decisions they get right, the more money they make. The more they get wrong, the more they are 'deducted'.
Chances are, you will find Refs/Umps having a higher success rate of decisions made there and then and the games will be all the better for it!
If things don't change - soon we will have players calling for video to see if they should run the ball wide or chip kick, or hit for onside or just go for the single.
Trial by Video 'during' a game has turned me away from sport considerably!!!!!!!!!!!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzport.
