Creating imaginary doomsday scenarios isn't going to make these protests any more valid.
It is a tactic of the Bolsheviks to try and paint a picture of the future as ghastly as possible so the populace are overcome with fear and despair so they can sneak their ideas into power.

Bet the Greeks taking all those austerity cuts have a different take on your "imaginary doomsday"... The US dollar's not looking too healthy either... Do you think the German bailout is going to make it all go away easy? Well... Here's to hoping Grin

By the way, those Bolsheviks... Might pay to start looking south east of Moscow for the new kids on our block... Give you a hint... They're not under the bed no more...

But, then you'd be okay with that, wouldn't you? After all, they're still buying... for now.

Could you be more specific Helian? The possibilities are endless, though perhaps the front runner is China. I wouldn't call the Chinese Bolshies, they may be better they may be worse. the one certainty is that with China anything can happen anytime. its sheer size makes it unstable.

Yes, I am speaking of China and the Chinese are becoming increasingly dictatorial over what the nature of our relationship with India should be.

Why the steadfast refusal by Australia to develop closer ties with India? After all, its a Commonwealth and democratic country with which we share recent history (never mind a national sport).

China is still a totalitarian state and one that has recently been acting more like a corrupt corporation than a nation.

Why do all these types of protestors attract the sort of down and out dirty people that you usually avoid in a shopping centre or on the street.

Poor, down and outs and losers.

Belt them over the head and throw them in the back of a police van.

Deeply ironic, cynical, immoral, unethical and probably criminal.

I believe that, and I would be very surprised if you did understand the situation. 1000 cities in 4 weeks and growing daily.

Oh the shame of the church!

What does democracy look like?

Not like this!

Legal moves to evict the Occupy the London Stock Exchange protest camp from outside St Paul’s Cathedral, central London are to start today.

Lawyers acting for the cathedral and the City of London Corporation—which governs the “Square Mile,” including the Bank of England and the Stock Exchange—are to take injunctions against the camp.

A statement by St Paul’s said, “following the advice of our lawyers, legal action has regrettably become necessary,” having failed to convince the protesters to move on.

Referring to the 240 tents outside the cathedral, the Corporation claimed it had “no problem with a peaceable 24-hour protest by people without tents—provided the highway is fully usable—but campsites and important highways don't mix.”

The police are also said to be “finalising” plans for the forcible removal of the protesters.

In April, it was reported that the Church of England’s investment fund had grown by £500 million in one year “after a strong performance,” rising by 15.2 percent.

The Church of England also has £3.8 million of shares in Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and £5.3 million in BSkyB, which is part owned by the multi-billionaire arch reactionary.

Oh! the church.

BTW, good on those genuine (and truly Xtian) church leaders who have refused to support this unholy eviction action against peaceful protesters - and resigned their positions in the church!
