Far from worshipping it, I just try to live as separate from "it" as possible.  I can more or less ignore corporations, but you cannot just ignore the government, unless you want to end up imprisoned or dead.

Can you even begin to think a bit harder?

If the Australian economy collapsed, how would it not affect you?

To whom would you turn to feed your family? Bankrupt corporations?

Who did the CEOs of these failing corporations turn to?

Of course it would affect me, but I am in a good position to adapt.  Are you?
Do you think vegetables grow on a corporation?  Does meat grow in an office block? can you even envision a way to survive without relying on a bureaucracy?  can you wipe your own arse without help?

Wesley, you are saying that you don’t particularly like the current system, but you’re more comfortable with the familiar than the unknown. That’s fair enough. The only problem is that it’s getting worse.

There will come a point where this affects you personally enough to make you uncomfortable, and perhaps then you’ll be motivated to want change. That’s why most of the US protesters are protesting now.

If you had have asked me 5 years ago, I'd have been into revolution for whatver reason.  However, having 2 young kids does tend to lessen ones appetite for society-wide upheaval and unrest.  I guess that's why the bulk of the protesters are very young - older people have to look out for people other than themselves.

What will corporate CEOs do with their hundreds of millions of unearned cash from gratuitous bonuses handed out for collapsing a corporation when fiat currency is worthless? Eat your kids?

Err no, they'll be subject to the exact same struggles as anyone else.  If fiat currency is worthless, they have no source of power beyond their own abilities.  The holders of the New currency, whether it be gold, silver or a strong arm will become the new elite.  Why do you ask?

So we're back to vigilant regulation to stave off disintegration.

Corporations didn't turn to the markets when they collapsed due to corporate mismanagement, they turned to governments for bail outs using taxpayers money...

Now we're back in the park, protesting for corporate accountability in aid of market viability...

Creating imaginary doomsday scenarios isn't going to make these protests any more valid.
It is a tactic of the Bolsheviks to try and paint a picture of the future as ghastly as possible so the populace are overcome with fear and despair so they can sneak their ideas into power.

You're probably going to need a sturdy shovel to find any genuine Bolsheviks these days.

If you think you're seeing any of them alive and kicking then I suggest you need your drinking water analysed.

Bolshevik = An emotionally charged term used to refer to extreme radicals or revolutionaries.

Fair enough. All the power to you if you get worked up over nonsense like that.

I've seen extreme radicals and revolutionaries on TV... even seen them mentioned in books..... can't say I've ever noticed one in the street.

From what I've heard they sip strong coffee in the back of smokey cafes and pubs.

Damn anti-smoking laws.... it's made them extinct here in Australia. Well extinct apart from nutters that you find on forums like this - but this is all pretend - it's not real life. This is just a one dimensional cartoon land, inhabited by one dimensional cartoon characters.

Bet the Greeks taking all those austerity cuts have a different take on your "imaginary doomsday"... The US dollar's not looking too healthy either... Do you think the German bailout is going to make it all go away easy? Well... Here's to hoping Grin

By the way, those Bolsheviks... Might pay to start looking south east of Moscow for the new kids on our block... Give you a hint... They're not under the bed no more...

But, then you'd be okay with that, wouldn't you? After all, they're still buying... for now.
