Abbott’s thugs not fit to run the country

Barry Everingham says the behaviour of the Liberals this week in Parliament shows they’re far from being ready to run the country.

The behaviour in the House of Representatives of the Leader of the Opposition and those behind him have this week given us a glaring and disgusting example of just how unready they are to be given the responsibility of running this country.

The delaying and disrupting tactics used by a new cheer squad of Liberal troglodytes have brought disgrace to those who see themselves as an alternative Government.

Their constant derision of the Prime Minister was led by the crone of the House, Bronwyn Bishop, whose only claim to fame was her sacking by John Howard when she, as a Minister, turned a blind eye to the use of kerosene in the bathwater of residents at an aged care home.

When Malcolm Turnbull was Opposition leader, he wouldn’t have a bar of her, but when Tony Abbott was voted in by just one vote, he installed her on his front bench with some of the most unspeakable detritus of the Howard years — those people who went along with the lie that boat people threw their children overboard; the people who were silent when Dr Haneef was so grievously and illegally hunted down. The very people who turned blind eyes to the treatment of Australian citizens Christina Rau and David Hicks.



Abbott has installed people who heard John Howard say a vote for Barack Obama would make Osama bin Laden a happy man – that allowed Howard to get away with the lie that Iraq had WMD’s knowing full well there were none and who along with his mates Bush and Blair have caused untold death destruction and misery to millions of Muslims.

Sir Robert Menzies would be, and probably is, spinning in his grave when such people from the Abbott camp are responsible for lowering the reputation of House of Representatives.

God knows the hideous sight of that foul mouthed Sophie Mirabella (“you can  all get buggered”) waddling to the despatch box with her arrogance overflowing is only matched by the David Flint like mincing, lip pursing and head shaking antics of Christopher Pyne.

The cold hard unbending facial antics of the former Queensland cop Peter Dutton is spine chilling while the tragedy that is Joe Hockey is nothing short of pathetic.

Just a few, but a few too many, who are capable ruining this country and who will make the lives of ordinary Australians hell on earth if they gain power.

Tony Abbott takes the advice of the likes of Christopher Monckton, Andrew Bolt, Alan Jones, Hugh Morgan, Cardinal Pell and others of the same ilk.

Vote for him and we have no hope.

No hope at all.

You got it!

And the dumbed down aussie public fall for it hook line and sinker.

Thanks to alan(where's the boys toilet) Jones and the criminal Murdoch 70% domination of Australian media press...Even the ABC is turning right with the Howard installments of many right wing ABC directors. (how about that)

Wake UP Australians.

Abbott is telling you LIES..every day of every week of every year..He lies because he has NO other way to get his LYING arse on the throne of power.

How can there be a lie without first making a promise?
Why is Tony Abbott the only person in Australia not permitted to change their mind.

Tony is carrying on like a chook with it's neck cut over carbon pricing, like it's the end of the fooking world, yet not that long ago he was supporting a carbon price?

GEE! I'd hate to see how he would behave if given a REAL job of taking care of my country..What a SCARY thought..He changes his mind over anything as long as he's preaching to the choir.

Peter Reith to toss remaining moderate Liberals overboard

The Liberals will go so far to the Right with an Abbott and Reith partnership Australia will be the place to leave, says Barry Everingham.

Moderate Liberals will be trembling with fear at the thought of Peter Reith grabbing the party presidency from the moderate and well liked Alan Stockdale.

Stockdale has done a great job since he became president and has managed to escape the odour of being so close to former premier Jeff Kennett, who has never been forgiven by Victorian liberals for his arrogant behaviour which allowed the ALP to snatch victory.

Putting it mildly, Peter Reith is a monster — a right wing ideologue who would see workers’ rights diminished by bringing back the hated Workchoices legislation and who would take the party back to the worse excesses of the Howard days.

It was Reith who concocted the lie that some boat people threw their children overboard and who was applauded by Howard for doing so.

(We should never forget this was the same John Howard who said a vote for Barack Obama would make Osama bin Laden a happy man. But to balance that, last week Noam Chomsky said in Sydney that John Howard’s great and good friend George W Bush was a bigger terrorist than Osama bin Laden!)

The Liberal Party, like its political counterpart, the Australian Labor Party, is in a mess. Its current political leader, Tony Abbott, is one of Australia’s most divisive politicians and not only is his party split in two, the electorate is heading in the same direction.

The thought of Peter Reith and Tony Abbott in cahoots is sending chills down the spines of the party faithful; even that rightist political warhorse Nick Minchin is not backing Reith; he served with him in the Howard cabinet and knows what bastardry he’s capable of.

John Howard, who keeps popping up with unsolicited advice for the Liberals, wants Reith at the helm.

Howard owes Reith big-time; when Howard lied that he and Peter Costello had no agreement for the Treasurer to take over the leadership, Reith backed Howard’s flawed claim.

Costello was squeaky clean — he didn’t lie and he wasn’t caught with his fingers in the till.

Reith was — on two occasions.

One of them was when he had to repay almost $3000 for the misuse of air tickets by his wife, Julie.

The other was when it was discovered that their son had misused his father’s Government provided Telecom card, by making 11,000 free calls; Reith was forced to pay the Treasury back almost $48,000.

Reith had obviously given the card to his son, but the minister was not forced to resign by Howard.

But Reith isn’t the only scare on the Liberal’s horizon.

A former disgraced Howard minister, Santo Santoro, is believed to be throwing his hat into the ring for the party’s vice-presidency.

Santoro didn’t declare a shareholding related to his portfolio.

He might have thought himself unlucky to lose his job. Many Howard ministers were lax with money matters, but managed to survive.

Howard’s set a precedent on rorting of the system by living full time in Sydney’s Kirribilli House which, over his years in office, cost taxpayers millions of extra dollars while The Lodged was used only rarely.

Several recalcitrant ministers got away with merely paying back the monies they incorrectly charged.

Howard could hardly get tough with all of them while he and Janette were on their own expensive folly at the hapless taxpayers expense.

So if Reith gets up and, God forbid, Tony does as well it will no doubt be happy days are here again!
