If you have put so much thought into it, outline why it is such a dubious hypothesis.

Tree rings, ice cores, and multiproxy models.

It's even funnier when you say it out loud   Grin

Yes it does. Nature doesn't care where the CO2 comes from, it just responds.

In fact the climates sensitivity to CO2 is one of the premises of AGW. I thought you'd spent time on this.

I'm not disputing the role of CO2.

I'm disputing the role of humans.

Don't you know what "anthropogenic" means?

What about the physical properties of CO2 and the satellite measurements that show a drop in outgoing radiation at the wavelength bands that greenhouse gases such as CO2 and methane absorb energy. There are multiple lines of independent evidence that confirm AGW. Temperature reconstructions from ice cores, tree rings, corals, lake and ocean sediments and bore holes verify the other lines of evidence.

Who do you think is responsible for the current rapid rise in atmospheric CO2.

Another common argument is that climate is always changing, and that Earth has had higher levels of CO2 in the past... and was much warmer. Richard Alley in the National Ice Core Lab in Denver CO, shows the hard (and very cold!) evidence that today's levels of CO2 are unlike anything seen in the whole of human civilization, for much more than 400,000 years.

That doesn't help your dubious AGW hypothesis much, does it?

They "confirm" nothing.

Science isn't about "confirming", or providing "proof".

This is one of the problems with AGW disciples: they insist that the hypothesis has been "proven".  Thus, they remain closed-minded.

Sceptics, on the other hand, remain open-minded.

if by open minded, you mean wind blowing between your ears, then yes.

Please answer MOTR's question about where all the co2 is coming from, if not man digging up and burning fossil fuels. ?

Science is about disproving the/a null-hypothesis thus adding up the evidential proof towards a conclusive result!!

Scientists are skeptics. It is the nature of science. You want to stare down science with your semantics and pretend you are open-minded, give me a break.

US National Snow and Ice Data Centre director Mark Serreze has said that reports and aircraft reconnaissance indicated the recent summer sea ice levels were the lowest since 1900.

Analyses of ancient material have suggested it was likely to be at the lowest level since the end of the last glacial period about 8000 years ago.

Somehow I don't think they were checking sea ice levels around in 1900 eh.
Gotta love extrapolation.

The sad thing is he thinks he's being clever. Are you honestly denying our ability to interpret scientific evidence from the past. Or are you just trolling for a reaction.

I cant be bothered about a reaction.
I don't troll.
And I can't be bothered with scientific guesswork, extrapolations, dodgy hockey sticks and defective computer models which use words like suggested, possible, probable and other airy fairy might be perhaps words beloved by the Church of Climate Change.
I don't believe tree rings thousands of miles from the arctic circle can be used to measure temperatures in the distant past, or even the accuracy of arctic icy poles.
What if a polar bear pissed on the ice where the icy pole was to be sampled from.
Think on it.
And I don't believe in world average temperatures being taken from a time before international weather stations were being used, or even before white man arrived in the Pacific.
If I want good science fiction, I'll watch Star Trek.
And if I hear crap, it's crap.

CHICKEN LIPS SIMPLY HAS A DIFFERENT DEFITINITON OF TROLL ....

... and so we have a never-ending conversation about nada!!

And here's some crap now straight from death funnily enough.
The one who says alot, but says nothing all at the same time.

The good ones are , yes.

AGW disciples, however, are closed-minded zealots.

You, and others on here, have repeatedly demonstrated that fact.

Open your mind and accept new possibilities.  You might actually learn something that way.   Wink

Well, you'll never be accepted as an AGW disciple then.

The things you've mentioned are pretty much all they have to support their ... well, let's call it an "argument".

Unfortunately, open-mindedness is not a desirable quality in the Church of AGW.    Undecided
