Quote:US National Snow and Ice Data Centre director Mark Serreze has said that reports and aircraft reconnaissance indicated the recent summer sea ice levels were the lowest since 1900.
Analyses of ancient material have suggested it was likely to be at the lowest level since the end of the last glacial period about 8000 years ago.
Somehow I don't think they were checking sea ice levels around in 1900 eh.
Gotta love extrapolation.
The sad thing is he thinks he's being clever. Are you honestly denying our ability to interpret scientific evidence from the past. Or are you just trolling for a reaction.
I cant be bothered about a reaction.
I don't troll.
And I can't be bothered with scientific guesswork, extrapolations, dodgy hockey sticks and defective computer models which use words like suggested, possible, probable and other airy fairy might be perhaps words beloved by the Church of Climate Change.
I don't believe tree rings thousands of miles from the arctic circle can be used to measure temperatures in the distant past, or even the accuracy of arctic icy poles.
What if a polar bear pissed on the ice where the icy pole was to be sampled from.
Think on it.
And I don't believe in world average temperatures being taken from a time before international weather stations were being used, or even before white man arrived in the Pacific.
If I want good science fiction, I'll watch Star Trek.
And if I hear crap, it's crap.
