Hunt says Coalition accepts IPCC findings

"What does this mean? It means that we need to do practical things that actually reduce emissions."

S'truth!

!!!!!!!!!

See  Roll Eyes.. humans have such a powerful impact on the 'natural world' ... our actions are SO extreme with regard to 'balance' that  OUR EARTH is forced to drastic measures. Our overall behaviour is psychotic..unfit.!  Our ability and technology outstrip our ethics.!!

I simply suspect that if WE don't lift our game, BIG TIME, our mother , the Earth, will be forced to take measures... BIG TIME.!!  Recently, we have been shown just a small sample of her power.... but have we SEEN it?  Some have. Some have not.!!

Mmmmmmmm, I'm sure I've seen this epic Hollywood blockbuster movie already.  Smiley

Yeah a few times no doubt.  But .here a couple of real-life examples,  historically speaking. Smiley Look at  -  Easter Island... whose people destroyed their own habitat to make bigger and better statues to >>???

Look at -  the disappearance of the Anasazi - a rich culture all gone - no-one left, ... except perhaps a few survivors who managed to find a home somewhere else, and became part of their saviours culture.  And thats still debatable.

Whos losses can be explained by war eh.
Not man made 'climate change' and deadly Co2.

Au contraire!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
P'haps 'religious war' on Easter Island added the last straw,  who can say,?  Not you.! ,
WAR does not EXPLAIN IT! War is the symptom ..not the disease.

I intended the examples to show what happens when humans forget they have to live 'within' their environment...with no  'options'..   Just a micro of the macro of the Earth TODAY.
We , you and me, are lucky to live NOW.
IMO Smiley

Motr, there is no point presenting facts to these people.

They deny global warming purely for political point scoring. Nothing to do with science.

Deniers, just tick which box you want to use for you latest mis-information session....

Climate Myth      vs      What the Science Says
1      "Climate's changed before"      ..........Climate reacts to whatever forces it to change at the time; humans are now the dominant forcing.
2      "It's the sun"      .........In the last 35 years of global warming, sun and climate have been going in opposite directions
3      "It's not bad"      ..........Negative impacts of global warming on agriculture, health & environment far outweigh any positives.
4      "There is no consensus"      ........97% of climate experts agree humans are causing global warming.
5      "It's cooling"      .........The last decade 2000-2009 was the hottest on record.
6      "Models are unreliable"      ........Models successfully reproduce temperatures since 1900 globally, by land, in the air and the ocean.
7      "Temp record is unreliable"       .........The warming trend is the same in rural and urban areas, measured by thermometers and satellites.
8      "Animals and plants can adapt"      ............Global warming will cause mass extinctions of species that cannot adapt on short time scales.
9      "It hasn't warmed since 1998"      ...........For global records, 2010 is the hottest year on record, tied with 2005.
10      "Antarctica is gaining ice"      ...........Satellites measure Antarctica losing land ice at an accelerating rate.
11      "Ice age predicted in the 70s"      ..........The vast majority of climate papers in the 1970s predicted warming.

I like myths.
Give us some more climate change myths Dr Jolly, as you seem to set store by such things.
One of my all time favourite myths was the one peddled by the UN in 2008 about the 50,000 climate change refugees due to arrive in Australia by 2010, from sinking Pacific islands.
That set the crash helmet brigade off then I remember.
I believe we are still waiting for even just one island to sink? Roll Eyes
