Explain to me how you have come to the conclusion that rising global temperature is not a significant threat. Have you read any of the scientific literature?

I'm nearly a half a century old..And I've heard most of the 'end of the world' scenarios.....
And pretty much the only thing they have in common is that NONE of them have ever come even close to being true....

So what's my incentive to believe this latest one (AGW)????

NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK SO THAT IS WHY THERE IS NO INCENTIVE FOR YOU TO BELIEVE!!

Thats why you cant argue with people like Gizmo. They are quite prepared to disown their own children on a matter of principal.

Nope Doc...prepared to disown my children for being a waste of space.....

If my kids/grandkids can't manage something as simply as moving to higher elevations or further from the equator, then they'd be oxygen thieves....

I'm sorry Doc...but we 'only' disagree as to the causes of the current warming, not the fact that it IS warming....

So how would you 'describe' a person who stayed on the coast (during a sea level rise) or stayed in a 'tropical zone' (during an increase in tropical temperatures?)....

Sorry to interrupt this little love in, but I'm off on holidays. Thanks Gizmo for the debate, you've helped me delve a little deeper into the issue. Unfortunately, from your perspective, you've strengthen my belief that AGW is the greatest threat facing humankind. I'll try and get back and explain why, but access to the Internet will be limited.

Chicken_lipsforme, my advice to you is simple, dont separate your Internet presence from your own persona.

To the horse rider guy, being right means poo if you can't bring people with you.

To everyone, have a wonderful Christmas.

Bummer...Heading where???

And Merry Christmas incidently...

And in response to your post...I also believe GW (NOT Agw) is a serious problem for humans.....although I'd put it a little lower on the list, after starvation in Africa and the EU financial crisis....Both of these are somewhat more immediate than global warming..
