Dog Meat Mince Pie
Aug 13th, 2011 at 11:13pm

If it is o.k to eat meat, why do so many meat eaters turn their nose up to  eating dogs.

We are happy for thousands to be butchered each day because they are dumped, so why not eat them and not waste them.

Boasts, no.

So Hicks, do you eat meat?

And if so, do you support Australians accepting thousands and thousands of cats and dogs put down each week because humans lose interest and dump their pets.

If humans are happy to dump their pets and let them die in very mean spirited ways. Why not leave out the middle man and just eat them when they get sick of them.

There is no large outcry here concerning the cruel live animal export Australia partakes in

Stand up and speak up for animals that cannot
http://www.smh.com.au/environment/animals/stand-up-and-speak-up-for-animals-that...

Why just cattle ... lets export live cats and dogs, that Australians dump, to overseas so they can butcher them inhumanely and then eat them.

Then we can have the puppy farms that force bitches to breed and breed for the pet shops expanded.

Dogs in tiny pens for the term of their natural life void of ever seeing the sky. Like we do with chickens and pigs. Puppies can then be sent overseas to be butchered for food.

If we accept joey being bashed half to death and then left to die in pain, so we can have kangaroo meat on our plates ... why the moral outrage over dog meat farming, butchery and eating?

I think it is terribly wasteful what we do with stray dogs and cats, especially given the ethnic minorities around that would have no problem eating them. We need to get over the idea that we have to dump all our useless cultural baggage on every immigrant that walks through the door.

There is no need for live export and these animals would not be farmed here for the meat - the economics just doesn't add up. Why farm an animal when we already pay a fortune to round them up, burn them and throw the meat away?

I think it gets even more wasteful when they insist on cremating these animals rather than using them as fertiliser.

I'm pretty sure I ate dog when I was in China, but you never really know what you are getting with those street vendors.

This whole attack is nothing more than a subtle form of racism, expressed as a 'holier than thou' approach to forcing other people to make the same food choices as us.

I have eaten dog a few times in Vietnam and its actually quite nice if prepared the right way.
If people farm their own animals and the animals are treated and slaughtered humanly I see no problem with consuming dog meat.

Besides sea-life,  humans "generally" don't consume carnivores.

You will eat anything, if you are hungry enough.

During the seige of Paris in 1870, they ate just
about every cat and dog in the city.

And most of the rats.

I ate a few rats while I was cycling through Cambodia about a decade ago as well.
Again..cooked properly..on rice and with a bucket of rice wine they are quite nice  Smiley

And THAT, Bobby is the reason westerners don't generally eat dogs or cats...

They also don't generally have a massive overpopulation problem with carnivores. I bet serving cat at the local restaurant would go a long way to stopping crazy old cat ladies turning their house into a feral cat farm.

So what are the sausage like bits on the other side of the plate?
