For goodness sake, Tony Abbott is NOT a far-right politician.

If you guys knew anything about the far right, you wouldn't even make such a comment.

David Duke, Nick Griffin, Jean Marie Le Pen, Franz Schoenhuber etc

These are far right politicians.

how about Adolf Hitler..

I was at least trying to stay away from National Socialism and give politicians running in democracies.

I could have given the leaders of Combat 18, Ku Klux Klan, etc as well.

well nothing werong with clearing the AIR so to speak..

a lot less messy than stabbing someone in the back after promising to support them.!!!

how ever not a good look have to admit..it will either clear the air.. or divide..as everyone takes sides in this type of thing..

its up to Abbott he is the head he has to keep them all on side. he cant ignore it like rudd did..

I agree, these are the things that increase the Public distrust of Politicians, although I must admit that it would be very difficult to increase my distrust of Politicians, from all party's!

well the same has to go for those that vote for them under the skin we are all the same...I am amazed at the ones that vote because someone wants to Tax the rich man... or take something away from the richman..or really only has one agenda..

I mean some will vote just for someone who says they support Gay marriage.bizarre but at the end of the day..they are the very ones with the POWER.

you cant really blame the pollie for bowing to the minorities

There are something like 70-80% of voters, who are firmly fixed on voting intentions/oher thoughts & very little will change those voting intentions/other thoughts, if anything.

That is wrong and it needs to start to change or we will defeat ourselves, from within!

However, Politicians have a special part in this process, the major of the Public (the 70-80%) still look to their Politicians for "Leadership & Guidance", even though that is not what they get!

If Politicians don't start doing what they should do, provide "Leadership & Guidance", in the best long term interests of all  Australians and ditto for every other country, then our future prospects are very Dim, indeed!

Andrei,
Abbott-a-bad may not be as far right as Genghis Khan, but he is certainly well right of centre!

There is nothing wrong with being on the Right of politics.
I too hold Right wing views.

I believe in market economics, strong border control, cultural synergy and an interventionist military policy to protect our people.

Tony Abbott is not of the far right.
To say so, it just either Australian ignorance of what far right is, or just plain mischievous.

I agree, there are at least two sides to most coins!

Gee, I wouldn't have guessed that, Andrei?

Much of that is coming under increasing strain and in the decades ahead much will have to change or ourselves & future generations may struggle to survive. Certainly, changing attritudes to Economics, Energy, Population Demographics & Climate Change will be central to our future wellbeing or not, as will our capacity to simply get on with each other!

As I said, he is certainly well right of centre!

The difference is Big Joe Hockey is a decent bloke with a good grasp of what he is doing, he is also a moderate doing his best under an extremist leader.
Abbott on the other hand is a self serving popularist whos only concern is for his own longevity in his political career and he will say and do anything to that end.
Far right extremists should never lead this country

So you would call for the sacking of Bob and then the reorganisation of the greens party for having an extreme left leader and being an extreme left party.

A major difference being that Bob Brown has zero chance of ever being Prime Minister of OZ, whereas Abbott-a-bad, at least has a theoretical chance.

Personally, I don't see any current Politician, who I would regard as a "leader" who would represent the best long term interests of all Australians.

But, that's just me and I'm only one voice.

LOL!  Grin Grin Shocked (...Don't tell me you missed it?!!?)

Nuh. Definitely Hound Dog Taylor. He had an extra finger on each hand which maybe helped him get his really raw slide sound. I just posted a youtube clip on one of the beyondabc threads.
