Yes. Australia’s total planetary global carbon emissions is 1.5%. Gillard’s carbon tax will decrease these emissions by 0.004% of 1.5% over the next 18 years.

This is suppose to help the planet?

every little bit, and everyone participating helps.

What a cullnuff.

That is just dumb. nuff

no I agree. Let's sit on our hands and let everyone else worry about. Right? That's the smart thing to do!

Another nuff to add to the list. one I should've added a long time ago.

I dont know anyone that said do nothing. I hear plenty of people who dont even believe in your AGW cult, but are willing to appease you by doing something, not nothing, but certainly not what you nuts are asking.

We are going to have to go renewable at some time, so we can do a little now and be ready in time.

Exactly, which is why doing a little by implementing incentive is the right way to go.

Unless of course you think transforming to renewable will come from growing more trees?

Seriously a nuff.  mega nuff.  almost on par with cullnuff.

Well I personally would say stuff you nuff nuts and dont appease them. But hey thats me. Think yourself lucky there are enough people around to appease your AGW bible bashing and to feel sorry enough for you to do anything.

Calling me an AGW bible basher is like calling anyone who doesn't think a carbon tax is needed as a climate change denier.

When have you heard me call clearly moderate and sensible people with their own views that happen to be against climate tax a climate change denier?

I simply call you one because clearly you are a partisan stooge with no mind of their own and ACTUALLY believe that there is no need for any progression whatsoever.

Right, you calling people 'nuffs' is your pseudo way of being PC on the denier claim.

As for me wanting or not wanting to do anything. I clearly state that we should do something but only for progression. Not nutbaggery. We should progress in time, because fossil fuels will dwindle over time.

So, will Abbott have the guts to try to expel Turnbull for disloyalty to his crown!?

Either way, would such a step stop - or trigger - the inevitable mutiny amongst the rats in the Liberal sewers!?

I doubt it nem... the Libs have minds of their own they are not puppets on a string as we have seen from the labor stalwarts...

Abbott is under pressure - and it seems as if it is only a matter of time before Turnbull makes a formal move...

Meantime, it is clear that he is no longer prepared to parrot the party line on those things which go against his core beliefs...

Moreover, there are others who are fed up with the 3-ring circus that the Coalition has become - and they are starting to speak up too...

In the past, when Coalition pollies have spoken up on sideline issues, the excuse has been that their membership is a 'broad church' - but Turnbull (and others) are unhappy with the central divisive and obstructionist policy platform that Abbott has perched himself upon - and staked his leadership on...

Abbott is vulnerable - and Turnbull and his supporters are sensing this and getting ready to go in for the kill...

It remains to be seen, whether this will occur sooner rather than later - but you can rest assured that Abbott will try his best to invoke the 'popularly-elected leader' nonsense that the has trotted out in the past...

I cant stand a PM that toadies to any minority for the sake of a vote.. but I get the distinct impression thats what you approve of.

which is of course your right.

we have had the worst of the worst govts for the past 3.5.years yet all you harp on is the opposition... I bet if we go back you didnt have a decent word to say about Turnbull..

I havent seen where Abbott is under pressure at all...

if anything I think its the second messiah that is feeling all sorts of pressure.

Small scraps from the LIBs table and the laborites are all excited

They are more excited about this than they were outraged when those people died as a result of the Pink Batts bungle

And still no condemnation from the left!!

You may recall, Cods, that my nickname for him was Talksbull - and that I was surprised that this 'pretty boy' wasn't more popular with female voters...

I remain concerned that he gained much of his wealth through dodgy business dealings...

He is a different sort of risk-taker to Abbott - and more of a backroom deal boy than a grandstander...

My main concern with him, is that he will be inclined to enter into dodgy public-private partnership deals...

Also by contrast, I doubt that he'd be as much into the tokenistic vote-buying bribes/handouts of his predecessors...

BTW, there are interesting discussions about this going on right now - on ABC's The Drum...

Glenn Milne has just stated on The Drum, that he reckons that Abbott should make a move against Turnbull over this - and sack him from the front bench...

Would Abbott have the guts to do this!?

Would it not be foolish of him to tempt fate by waving a red flag to Turnbull!?

Malcolm Turnbull has once again highlighted the inadequacy of the Coalition's Climate Change policies, and for all the potential swinging voters, who could never entertain supporting a Coalition led by Tony Abbott, we are watching with keen interest, and anticipation that this may be the start of Turnbull's campaign to retake the leadership of the Liberal party.

With the amount of media support that Abbott has managed to garner for his anti-Carbon Tax stance, based on his own, personal, rejection of the scientific communities findings on Global Warming, it seems that Turnbull is prepared to stand by his belief in the need to seriously address the Climate change issue, and may be making a bold move where the winner takes all, leadership of the Libs, and leadership of the Nation, as our next PM.

I sincerely hope he is successful for the sake of the country, and it's future generations.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/19/3220796.htm

Turnbull will be questioned heavily over his views regarding the NBNs future under his potential Prime-ministership...

Looking forward to when those pointy questions herald Abbotts demise!  Grin
