Labor will break dental promise

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/labor-to-break-promise-on-dental-subsidy-scheme/story-fn59niix-1226034938051

Health Minister Nicola Roxon has ruled out funding a comprehensive dental subsidy scheme in the May budget, breaking a key commitment Labor struck with the Greens to form government.

Ms Roxon told The Australian yesterday any new program to cover the cost of dental treatment for low-income Australians was "not going to be achievable in this budget" and there was "no magic pudding" of money available.

Ms Roxon also put medical researchers on notice that she had a "difficult message" for them after refusing to douse speculation that $400 million would be cut from their budgets.

I will be interested to se how Abbott funds any new policies without implementing a big new tax, since he has ruled out slugging the mining industry who are making massive profits out of Australian minerals......What people should be asking is how will the Coalition pay for there inequitable paid maternity leave scheme and there flawed climate change policy....It will be done with a big new tax that taxpayers will finance not big polluters.....Abbott is a fraud if he does not come clean and admit he will also tax the taxpayer to fund his schemes!!!

The only reason to ask Liberals is to deflect off of labor greens alliance.

I am sure you will get liberals policies in time for an election. Until then, you are just wishfull thinking that the spot light will get off the failed government alliance.

Oh, no, we can't find money for THAT.

But the irrational fixation with a 'surplus' is a HUGE priority, isn't it?

what I am asking is WHERE IS JULIARRRRRRRR GETTING THE MONEY FROM to give to Indonesia. to build more detention centres that were never going to be...lol..rebuild Queensland... oh thats right TAX or selective TAX call it a levy and be damned.lets not forget the $4.5 bill ruddy has to build his credit at the UN..

be honest dont you think they are running out of ways to TAX this bloody country into a corner... what ever they do it will ripple down to everyone of us..dont lets kid ourselves..and the poor will get poorer as they do.

they have created chaos now its a shambles and if you cant see that then I feel sorry for you..

dont talk about maternity leave that was a LABOR stooge promise and Abbott had no choice.. bizarre dead right..

but there it is the labs being lead by the nose by the unions..

and now they are being lead by the greens and a couple of pumped up independents..who happen to think they are important.and their policies will change the world..

who cares about the cost.

yeah right come on phil stop taking your eye off the govt.....thats what they want you to do.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but they're both on the same 'team', so she can carry the can too.

Dont worry. They will scrimp on carbon tax relief and put it toward the surplus. There is a reason why they are rushing through the carbon tax.

Only the most feeble minds, would even attempt to reduce complex issues to the point of inanity that this loony right fan group in here do.
'They "wasted" all the money????

While I am disappointed about some aspects of Labor's first term, I also give them massive credit for reacting positively, and swiftly, to critical issues, and the only strong criticism I have is for their poor oversight of the insulation scheme, which was exploited by crooks, but these maroons from the loony right are as nutty as a fruitcake, and just lurch from one hysterical over reaction to the other.

Wasted ALL the money", indeed, these chumps couldn't lie straight in bed.

What they REALLY mean, isn't that the money
was 'wasted', as such, but that it wasn't all spent
on THEM.

Can't have the poor, or Labor voters getting any
of it, can we?

No it would seem a reasonable question seeing you are advocating an election and the installation of a Coalition Government.
Sorry some of us just don't blindly follow like you seem to want to, we ask things like how are you going to do it better, where is the money coming from, but I suppose seeing you have an IDIOT leading your party the less question the better.
