The whole idea about taxing people (eg cigarettes) is to reduce their consumption
So if you are going to make them better off then why would anyone reduce their habits?
So this carbon tax is a farce!
of course you are right maqqa but dont expect anyone that has been blinded into think this stupid TAX will fix climate warming..lol.
will ever understand that logic...
as far as I know the car is NUMBER 1 when it comes to pollution starting with the making of the steel.. the industries are only the begining of this problem..they are not the B/all and end all as the hardleft would have us all believe..............
we are the problem "humans"..
and as an oldie but a goodie..
if they give me more money after food and bills whats left will probably go into my petrol tank.. so I can still go out 3.4 times a week..
you see as fast as they give us a raise.. everything goes up at the same time.. even though the raise is to cover what happened in the past and not to cover what is ahead..prescriptions have gone up by 60cents.each since labor came in..
now theres something about getting older everytime you go to the doctor you seem to come out with more prescriptions..
what worries me about this money being given to the poor.. is it a one off payment or will it continue each year???..like the tax will!!!!!!!!!
I'd be surprised if the poor get very much at all in the way of
compensation, and if they do, it will probably be a one-off.
Like Howard's 'compensation' for the GST. A SMALL
(miniscule, actually) one-off payment, which was IMMEDIATELY
either clawed back by Satanlink or swallowed in cost-of-living increases.
An increase of AT LEAST $50 per week, ONGOING, would be the
MINIMUM compensation that I'd consider acceptable.
But, I can't see it happening. As I said earlier, I suspect that the
lion's share of any compensation will go to the middle-class to BUY VOTES.
I would be VERY surprised if I'm wrong.
