Carl, as they say - was always 'close', but no cigar.

We won't inherit the stars - the child of Humanity will,
be it a hybrid of Robot & Dolphin (who knows for sure?) and going by the 'patterns' that Humanity displays.
Only our 'replacement' will meet a species from 'beyond' the Ort Cloud of our existence.
Humanity is 'earthbound' forever and until we accept that 'death', we will never wise up and 'create' like Gods.

Watch the movie Pacific Rim and you will see the North American dependence upon Technology : giant Robots.
You will also see the type of 'Unionist' Aussies that side with USA.
But they go to war with (your usual 'insinuation' for want of actually accusing with truth) BIOLOGICALLY superior beings from wayyyyy 'down under' the Ocean.
Guess its their way of describing Australians who 'do not' serve the USA and go about their 'own thing'.
The 'crack' in the Ocean floor - represents the 'cracks' in both cultures that are coming to head.

So there can be more than 'one' right answer to a problem.
Hell, there are 8 races and 8 regions of the world 'culturally' - so definitely more than just one right answer.
So an Android/Biological hybrid species can be highly considered. Even Asimov states that his 'Robots' eventually needed to 'meld into' the solarian 'Biologically superior'.
In Scuba Diving: you have the Technologically superior Tech Diver and then you have the Physiologically superior 'FreeDiver' - both are 'right' towards the evolution of the ultimate Diver.

But its pretty obvious that Humanity is made to conquer this world only and then make way to its successor, once total peace (and tranquillity from suicide) is made on Earth.

Our 'Star-Child' is made in our image - but not Human.
Maybe Orca with Technological adaptions? Who knows.
But only when something born from this world is 'given' to the Universe as a 'gift' will another Species from another world 'reveal' itself.
Until then. Play your role in how this World turns.

If you live in North America (USA),
be it Mind or/and Body.
Then you are indeed at THE END OF THE WORLD
- but that's the WEST for you.

Australia is 'Down Under' to the 'superiority' of those in the North = North America and many enjoy living to that setup.
But Australia (found in Sahul) is also A DAY AHEAD on the International Dateline and thus 'superior' to North America in terms of TIME, but not PLACE.

So if you 'believe' that it is the end of the world, then yes - soon...
...there will be an 'End' to a World (North America) that existed 'without'
an Australia on the scene. A world that never had a 'precedence', like Australia had of North America, and had to learn from its own MISTAKE (The FALL, just like in Judaism).

But an 'overall' END to the entire planet, race, etc? Cry

Not just yet - still got a few things that need attending to - no matter how much we try not to grow up from being a teenager.

Giant killer hornets attack China

Swarms of deadly hornets have killed more than 40 people and injured more than 1,600 in northern China. At least 37 patients are in a critical or serious condition in hospitals, according to Shaanxi provincial government.

Victims of the attack have been left with deep, dark craters in their skin the size of bullet wounds. Over the past three months the cities of Angkang, Hanzhong and Shangluo have been worst affected.
