I find it hard to fathom that the few deaths in the insulation industry that occured during the Rudd leadership created more of a cry for pollies heads than the  deaths and horrific injury suffered by our armed forces personal in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Where are the far right commentators now or is this young mans life worth less than that of an insulation installer?

Australian soldier killed in Afghanistan
February 20, 2011 - 11:39AM

An Australian soldier and Afghan interpreter have been killed in Afghanistan overnight.   Sad

Defence Force Chief Angus Houston said today that the pair had been shot and despite immediate first aid, could not be saved.

More to come

The war in Afghanistan has bi-partisan support from both the government and opposition......it is also sanctioned by the U.N.....Getting in will be easier than getting out.....When we look back at what was achieved in Afghanistan and Iraq we can be certain of one thing....it was not worth the cost!!!

One dead soldier.

Imagine if we were seriously involved in a real war and they were rattling off the names of twenty, thirty or forty dead diggers each night.

Sh.it Happens !

over and over and over

the worst part of this is that politicians will go through their script speeches. something like ...

-joe blow was a 'brave soldier, but we must stay the course by sacrificing more young lives to honor this dead soldier's sacrifice.

underlinging message :
we must provoke and fight wars so we can feed the war machine all you tax dollars, while we argue over $5 a week ... and how bad these muslims are ... while Australians are dying for a corrupt Muslim government in Afghanistan.

I'am sure that the politicians and boffins of the UN will not send their Sons and Daughters to fight for even more corrupt governments.

Democracy, is Australia or for that matter the other countries fighting for Democracy in other countries a real Democracy; more likely a "Plutocracy".

When a Premier of Tasmania gets paid $275,000 per annum, which is ten times a retired couples combined pension, that is hardly a Democracy, and besides Tasmania must have a Politician or ex-politician for every ordinary citizens.

The Greens should be summarily deported from Australia - this country and the environment cannot sustain the financial cost of keeping them here. Smiley

IM not sure the connection between a pension and a head of govt and why you think they should be the same... And perhaps you should work on your definition of 'democracy' a little more!

you are no more sorry than the insurgents that killed him. otherwise this wouldnt be in the politicians suck forum..

you are a political prostitute..using another soldiers death for your abominable political point scoring..

Hello kettle - glad to see you single me out instead of the serial pot-stirrers on your side of the growing political divide - not!   Roll Eyes

I am genuinely sorry and saddened - but weren't you one of those who were vocally blaming Lab policies for the mass-drownings of 'boat people' over the past few days!?  Roll Eyes

No matter how much you wish it, you can't get away with not wanting to deal with politics both ways, Cods...

no your not sorry thats an excuse and you know it, you have a worse mouth than bettestreep had.. and thats saying something.no I have never attack labor at your level, and you would put that up here if you had the evidence you are without a doubt the lowest form of life on here.

you even start a thread about a dead soldier and then go on to twist it to bring in politics and now something totally unrelated..boat people..

how bloody caring is that..hypocrites like you hide under the sham of a bleeding heart... no way do you get away with it this time.you can go back to your rock.because thats what you really hide under.
