Smithy he was a fking thug and his comments consistently about Britain betrayed his heritage.

I am not sure how you can look up to such a bloke.

And he is the reason Australia is where it is today.
As someone who is employed in finance I'd think you would acknowledge his genious
Bitch about him being nasty to Britian all you like the truth is they used our men as cannon fodder in WW! and didn't want them withdrawn from Europe for the defense of this nation in WW11.
We are just convicts remember?

I have conceded on numerous occasions and happy to do so again that he made several finance decisions which were very well thought-out and beneficial to Australia.

As a bloke though, he is a pig of a man.

Yep.

And now many of them are entering middle-age, and
are STILL living in (comparative) poverty.

As are THEIR kids.

Nothing changes.

Mate every single country on this planet had a poor underclass.

It happens.

Even Switzerland, land of the untold wealth, I passed about 5 beggars the other week outside banks in Geneva which had marble receptions which would rival royal palaces.

That's oft-quoted Switzerland the economic powerhouse and social model for us all.

So let's just stop setting ourselves silly goals.

There will always be very rich people, there will be very poor people.
The rest of us are in between and we make do....

That was my point, Andrei, it was an empty promise
that could not, and still cannot, be fulfilled.

Empty promise or aspiration?

"We will walk on the moon by the end of this decade"

promise or aspiration?

This  isn't a politicians quote, however it is political in nature, and demonstrates the manner in which political party's side with our mainstream media to distort the truth,  concentrating on anything negative, casting aside ethics in their mad desire to get rid of a given political candidate, in this instance, it's the Courier Mail attempting to destroy Hanson and her One Nation party.

The command to do this came from no lesser an identity than Lachlan Murdoch who was reported as telling his editors to Quote:
"Kill the cow"
.
Source- http://www.gwb.com.au/murder.html

________________

Prejudice and political lean aside, is it ethical of our media to side with political party's to destroy political candidates?

Or is it a case of all's fair in love, war , media and now politics?

If so...  then Gillards in for a rude awakening.

The press have been kind so far, but now that history is about to repeat itself, she might find she regrets having targeted others, they way they will her, as soon as the tables turn.

They have already started.

Cool
