NSW Premier Kristina Keneally has admitted for the first time that contracts sealing the much-maligned sale of state-owned electricity assets have been signed.

It came as Ms Keneally and Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell sparred in a public debate in western Sydney on Monday.

Mr O'Farrell was reiterating his familiar view that the sale of the first tranche of the electricity assets should be halted when Ms Keneally made her admission.

"Halt the sale of the first tranche, the contracts are not yet signed," Mr O'Farrell said.

"Yes they are, yes they are," Ms Keneally replied.

"If we tear up those contracts not only are we going to have all that liability come back to the state government we are also going to face millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation costs."

Ms Keneally told an upper house parliamentary inquiry into the sale on January 17 that the contracts had not been signed.

Mr O'Farrell told journalists after the debate that it was a "staggering admission".

"This is the premier, this is the treasurer who refused to provide that information to the parliamentary committee, it shouldn't have slipped out in debate at a forum in western Sydney."

The state government has sold three previously publicly-owned electricity retailers and the right to trade the output of two generating companies to private companies.

It has since scrapped a second round of sales.

The first tranche of sales have been heavily criticised by the state opposition for not gaining full value for money.

mel - who/what was keneally before she raped nsw ?

oh look - another lefty cockup.

Quote:
THE cost of Kristina Keneally's botched solar panel rebate scheme has increased by $500 million, amplifying concerns that the Premier's promises to shield consumers from the $3 billion blowout do not add up.

In addition, an investigation by The Australian has established that the government's Climate Change Fund, which Ms Keneally says will be used to compensate electricity consumers for the cost of the rebate, will need to be almost doubled. This suggests the pain will be felt in future power bills, despite Ms Keneally's election promise to hold down the cost of living for families.

The revelations came as former Labor senator Graham Richardson forecast next month's state election would be "electoral slaughter" for the government.

"And it'll be the likes of which we've never seen," Mr Richardson told ABC's Q&A last night........

In the US.
“She took part in student politics, earned degrees in political science and religious studies and, by her own admission, had a "brief flirtation" with the US Republican Party.”

Political career
Keneally was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in 2003, following a bitter pre-election battle with Deirdre Grusovin, the sister of senior Labor politician Laurie Brereton It was in fact her husband Ben who was more interested in a political career, relying on his friendship with Joe Tripodi.   However, the party's affirmative action rules required a female candidate, so Keneally ran instead. In her inaugural speech she talked about her commitment to social justice, equal opportunity for women and her Roman Catholic faith

Nobodys girl hey Kristina?

She advises god is a woman,  ...a bit of an airhead is an understatement, ...but closer to the state election, I have a feeling we will learn more about Kristina  ...  and her influential Jewish media friends she's sucking off right now  who work in her same building and like the way she calls him "Baab Allice"

Cool

Whore, lay down your sword, or prepare to joust with the silver tongue.

You seem to have a real problem with people of Jewish faith.
Do you have evidence or are you just sterotyping?

Yes, I have a huge problem with political nepotism and couldn't care what faith they were, Christian, Muslim...they are all a pack of sycophants.

I don't discriminate, I despise them all.

Cool

Bob Ellis, 'Baab's' Kristina needs a washer in her tap replaced,  could she lend you her hand?

Cool I'll make sure she moisturises first next time.
