Credit where credit is due.

Blackouts are expected to occur in an area of Sydney today during another day of high temps.
A Green MP has suggested something I'd not heard of before.

State Greens MP John Kaye says better energy management could help avoid blackouts.

He says the government could achieve a ten per cent cut in the peak load if it encouraged people to install a cheap component that switches their airconditioners off for five minutes every hour.

"It's done in America. When it's done consumers don't even know it's happening," he said.

"It doesn't change the temperature inside a house dramatically but it releases the pressure on the transmission and distribution system and the generation system, takes away blackouts and is cheaper and better for the environment."

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

when  you add up all those office blocks and govt building sounds like a bloody good idea..as our children havent even got aircon in their schools.. how about we make it only have the aircon on for 15 min per hour in govt building...lol..now I would like to see that.

I only have aircon in my car but always try to switch it off about 10min before I arrive at destination
