So can it be said, that whenever Bligh has one of her notorious good-will fund-raisers, the funding raised by the public for victims of natural disaster she cashes in?
So, with the $700,000 odd left over from Cyclone Larry, (again, no deaths)...will she cash in again this time, so will be about 1400,000 in front?
Perhaps if she's lucky, people will donate even more,(if they think it's a really really bad cyclone, especially due to recent devastating floods also. Or are the public a little over this already and starting to wake up to their Jedi weather and climate tricks?

She must love 'computer-modelling' (geeks estimating wind speeds/climate data) in conjunction with the no particular event that can be pinned directly to global warming itself. But there is no arguing with BoM and CSIRO when they produce their hundred years worth of statistics that's for sure.
Re- BoM stats, uncanny how they again, can only refer to computer modelling guestimates, with respects to a cyclone Yasi, not unlike CRU's guestimates with a Climategate affair also.
The central pressure of the system was estimated at 990 hPa. Winds close to the centre and whilst Every computer model is painting the same picture, they cant be entirely sure, because BoM only recorded wind speeds of 185km/h on Willis Island before Cyclone Yasi took out the weather station on the island. Well, allegedly anyway.
You would think they would cyclone proof their instruments, I mean, how many times have we heard the same old story..."Cyclone breaks the instruments at bla bla bla"....
Get real!
And why do these anemometers always seem to break on isolated BoM weather research stations?
Darwin airport experienced 200km + wind speeds a few days ago , and their anemometers aren't even built to withstand the wind speeds our BoM stations 'weatherpreneurs' equipment is built to withstand.
And Darwins equipment dint break, so why did our BoM cyclone proof weather stations?
I think they think we came down with the last shower!
Imagine a pack of independent weather analysts, doing it for themselves Ms Bligh...how do you like those apples?
Instruments that only appear to work sometimes, -vrs- their computer generated models 'guesstimate'.

http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/content/2011/s3127925.htm Quote:ELEANOR HALL: So you're saying, sorry, the research centre that you've got on Willis Island has actually been damaged by Cyclone Yasi, how are you going to monitor the cyclone if you're centre's been hit?
GEOFF DOUEAL: Yeah the radar's now picking up, the onshore radars, we've got a string of radars along the on-shore parts and we've also got some observation points now at Flinders Reef and Holmes Reef which are on the outer reef, there giving us good wind speeds and directions.
Also the satellite imagery that we're receiving every hour has pretty clear eyes so we're able to track it quite usefully.
ELEANOR HALL: But you have lost your tracking from that key centre on Willis Island?
GEOFF DOUEAL: It has but we're starting to pick up the radar signal now as it gets closer to land.
ELEANOR HALL: Are you concerned that you won't be able to provide as accurate information to all the people in Queensland that are needing it as this massive system approaches?
See, they don't need accurate readings, just a Cat 5 was good enough for our Bligh!
