The Church may be greedy, thats a matter of opinion.
This Church are not thieves until proven so.
The Catholic Church does have a horrible track record - fact.
This is doesnt change the fact that proving the woman was of sound mind when gifting her house to the Church, it is ultimatley her decision to do so, and that decision should always be respected.
The decision doesnt have to be liked, but remember it was hers to give, not the childrens to receive.
Its not about defending the Church Nail and Bobby, its about defending the womans right to do with her assets as she pleases. Throwing around a few thousand years of poor behaviour doesnt prove a single thing. A judge will want to know the same things I do. They will review medical records and the date of the will and rule. Emotion and whom it is gifted to is irrelevant.
You have made some pretty good points there Verge - for once.
The most likely outcome - in my opinion is that the court will rule
that the will was valid & the church will get the loot.
The judge will probably say something like e.g.
While I sympathise with the family the law must be upheld. The state will have to look after the disabled kids & provide housing
for them - that means - you & me the taxpayer.
The church will add to their already multi billion dollar property portfolio.
The law will sympathize with the church because of its benevolent status in society even though it will probably be just another house added to its billion dollkar property portfolio

The court will be satisfied that the family was considered when the mother bequeathed a small amount of money to the children and grand children. I suspect that some flunky from the church has already got at the mother because somehow the will reads like it has considered provision for the children by bequeathing a small amount of money to them.
The question is why did she not leave the lot to the church or why didn't she leave the small amount of money to the church and leave the house to the children ??
There is something wrong here.
