I know Abu. The ignorance of the xenophobes is truly astounding. It has to stem from fear and a lack of education.

It does get nauseating though - the same old bigotry over and over again. Small minds obviously.

It is from fear of the unknown. If they took the time do some research into the Islamic/Muslim culture and faith, they might change their opinions, or at least have a clue as to what they are arguing about.

They latch onto the Islamaphobia in the media, that is spread by America and are ready to accept everything they read as fact.

Some Christian churches are starting to circulate the same anti-Muslim propaganda on a weekly basis, an update on the slaughter of Christians by Muslims. I actually took the time and effort to check  on a couple of the so-called events, and they never happened.

Don't fall for hearsay, or heresy.

Because the US is a mouthpiece for Israel and they won't be happy until they've completely wiped out Palestine and got full control of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lawyers and social workers perhaps, but have you thought about the political benefits of changing the constitution in a manner whereby they have succeeded in removing the crown from one particularly large state, ie, WA whereby it renders individual votes worthless, converting them into school-voters this and then preceding to fill this state with proxy-voters as it fills up and then preceded to vote away the rights of those more informed?

As they precede to turn WA into a quarry and vote bank.

Last time they held a referendum, monarchists won by a relatively small margin, I think 5%/7%....  so imagine how many they have immigrated since 1999, this and are filling WA up with..  it wont take much to push them across the line particularly now WA voters don't have the same rights, vote wise as the rest of Australians now they have removed the crown from the state.

Recall when Gillard was charged with treason, (albeit the charges didn't end up sticking as they changed the laws after having changed the constitution making what they did legal after the fact)....

This is what the ALP are doing... filling our country up with school-voters for their political advantage.

Roll Eyes Give them your finger, and they'll take your arm.

Basically, ALP GALP wont be happy until they have immigrated enough to get them over the line (vote wise) in order for us to  like it or not, unwittingly vote for a republic.

Far from democratic when you think about it.

They're already in the economic scrap yard, they need all the oil they can get. Two greedy, evil countries. I hope they get their just desserts with the oil.

Better you stick with the drinking excuse, because the alternative is that you're just an uneducated hick.

It's not only WA they have plans on turning into a vote-bank (already done), it's Victoria, NT, and eventually SA and QLD also.

Imagine our nation should half of it become an alleged crowned republic.

With or without the crown, without the protections of our constitution, all of us black or white or ethnic will be expendable as our votes in the whole scheme of things when you have self-absorbed opportunists like Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten declaring themselves president of a banana republic, by-product of China.

Pete Costello may have been a good treasurer, but he too is a republican, as is his brother Tim who is currently and 'quietly' advising Gillard at present.

They've already dragged us into the mix as well unfortunately. As the US sinks and their enemies increase - they'll cling onto us and pull us down with them.

Most of the boat people are coming here because of the collateral damage caused by the US's occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. The same happened after the Vietnam war.

It is our responsibility to take displaced people - especially from wars that we've helped create.

Howard being a die-hard monarchist knew this, and also knew, that had he stepped down in the 2007 election, Costello would have become PM, Rudd having only won by the skin of his teeth, not the victory some ALP supporters would have you believe, so it's my view Howard intentionally bought us some time, in hope a monarchist leader would find it's way to the liberal leadership after he stepped down, he just made damn sure it wasn't going to be a republican, Pete Costello before he left.

Yes he bought us some time, but we still need to work our asses off to scathe off what will be the ruination of our country should the prince of darkness finally achieve his objective.

See, Tony Abbott is not only up against the GALP and it's war-lording union factions and power-brokers, but he's at war with his own partys republican faction and beneficiary's, donors also, who themselves would prefer a republican lead the Liberal party for their own selfish requirements.

Mantra, if fulfilling our duty, (taking more refugees than we can cope with infrastructure wise) is what's destroying our country, and rendering us far from sustainable green-house gas emission and infrastructure wise, is it still desirable?

Essentially, you are suggesting we throw in the towel and sacrifice ourselves, in the name of charity?

Think about it. Undecided

You're off your rocker if you think we're taking more refugees than we can cope with infrastructure wise.

Have you actually looked at what % of our growth is due to refugees???

Ever heard the word negligible???

The people will eventually decide whether we become a Republic.

Are you saying that Howard deliberately sacrificed his beloved Party for the sake of the Monarch?

Now that is unbelievable Mel. Howard loved his job so much that he clung onto it in the dim hope there would be a miracle. His selfish actions caused the downfall of the Liberals and left them floundering in the wilderness.

If he had handed the job over to Costello - the Libs would have been returned.

So Howard's "sacrifice" brought upon the ruination of this country? What an old fool he was.

Mel - the boat people comprise only a minute percentage of our total migrant intake.

It is our international obligation to take these people and process them. If the majority of Australians had been happy with Howard's Pacific Solution - he would still be in power today.
