Xmas party food

These always go down well, either for Xmas at home with the family, or as a simple Xmas work party throw together...done in 10-15 mins
, if that.
Smiley.... They disappear so fast, guaranteed, there wont be any left.

Mini Xmas puddings

700g dark pre-bought fruit cake (doesn't have to be an expensive one)..just so long as it's dark.

1/4 cup of brandy/ sherry/ Grand Marnier, or other liqueur  of your choice.

200g milk chocolate melts

100g melted white chocolate melts

Glacé cherry's and green snakes for decoration.

Just crumble your fruit cake into a bowl, then melt milk chocolate in microwave for 30 secs (times vary depending on microwave), and add to the crumbled cake with 1/4 cup of brandy/sherry/liqueur, what ever booze you decide to go with.

Quote:
Could use orange juice with or without a few drops of brandy essence for an alcohol free alternative if you like.

Once combined roll into bite-sized balls and place into red/green/gold/silver or Xmas patty-cake cases, and top with melted white chocolate glazed cherry and a small piece of green chopped snake either side of the cherry on top. (for cherry and leaves).

People will think you went to so much trouble, they really are a cute Xmas party hit.

Decoration alternatives....

You could use fondant and colour it, red and green, add a little almond essence (optional) and make your own perfect little round cherry's, holly bush if you like, this or use marzipan, or you could  go with minimalist white chocolate topping approach, and dust over a little icing sugar also.

Here's a few examples... really, it's up to you how you want them to look.

.............

I will probably go with making my own fondant green leaves and will use whole glazed cherry's.

I like the look of the holly effect, and icing sugar, though l love my glazed cherry's, so...*gosh* I don't know, decisions decisions, we might have to make them all. Grin

But for something simple, and fast, ( for a work party) just use green snakes and the glazed cherry's.
