But they have spoken of prostate cancer awareness. The ABC HAS specialist reports on their website. ABC's Catalyst HAS had programming on the subject. ABC Radio HAS discussed the topic. ABC HAS spoken of Movember (there's an interview online, from ABC breakfast radio in SA, with Movember founder Luke Slattery).

It has received airtime - just not a lot of it.

Hardly sounds like blatant refusal to cover the issue.

Actually, you only said airtime a few times.

You also said that certain media outlets refuse to discuss the topic, using the ABC as an example. As a MEDIA OUTLET, beyond what you hear on the radio, the ABC HAS discussed the issue.

By the way, those transcripts from ABC News were from ABC News radio segments. The transcripts themselves were available online, but the initial recordings came from RADIO.

Well try something more general like men's cancers - nope not allowed.

The subject HAS been discussed on the ABC network, radio included.

Next time JK try doing some research, maybe even ask your mum or dad about the realities of life.
Or try calling the ABC yourself, but better get someone's permission first.

Then after that you will know that the ABC wont allow the promotion of mens health issues mainly Movember.

Oh and just for your benefit JK let me know when you see a blue ribbon product in the supermarket.

Tickfen, maybe you are listening to the wrong programs - my last post - goodnight and go along to your doc. and get checked. We women are also on your side you know, but men also have to take some initiative.

The $20 kits from Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia are at the Commonwealth Bank branches of Engadine, Hurstville, Kogarah, Miranda and Rockdale.
The kits include tongs, apron, stubby holder and paper napkins. All money raised will go to the foundation.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia after nonmelanoma skin cancers, and according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, it is estimated that this year almost 20,000 Australian males will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 3300 Australian men will lose their lives to the disease.

Interview with Michael Pollak, professor, McGill University, Montreal who conducts research into the link between diet and prostate cancer. Pollak cites a trial in America looking into the effect of supplements on cancer rates, adding that the results were disappointing. Pollak says eating too much is not good for prostate cancer, much like cardiovascular disease and mentions the connection with obesity.
